Ben Wilinofsky wins EPT Berlin

Under the name 'NeverScaredB', Canadian Ben Wilinofsky has won his fair share of major tournaments on the internet, but before EPT Berlin he had despite numerous attempts, never even cashed in a live tournament.

With a completely empty live-CV before EPT Berlin, Ben Wilinofsky did'nt seem to be the biggest threat in the fight for victory, but the 22-year-old Canadian was probably one of the tournament's most experienced players.

According to different tournament portals, he has cashed for more then $ 2,100,000 in online tournaments, including $ 65,000 for a victory in the prestigious Super Tuesday on PokerStars.

The victory of € 825,000 is clearly his greatest achievement, and he was obviously overwhelmed to top the field of 773 players from 50 different countries.

- Everybody at the final table played really well. They are fantastic players and also some really nice guys. I'm so overwhelmed with emotions right now that I just can't think clearly. It's amazing, "Wilinofsky said after the victory.

- I went through so many obstacles just to get here! Things worked out for me, and mostly I played really good. My only goal was to accumulate as many chips as possible, and that was what I did!

In addition to the € 825,000 first prize in cash Wilinofsky could also collect a bracelet from Danish Shamballa Jewels, a € 10,000-seat to the EPT Grand Final in Madrid and one to the next EPT Champion of Champions in the same place.

This guy had played solid for the whole tournament, he always seemed to be floating around the top and apparently his final table performance was even better than his previous days. I feel that he deserved this win.

I am however still looking for someone that can win a 2nd EPT title, that will definitely put more pressure on everyone else when this amazing achievement finally occurrs.

wow, what a nice first prize for someone who is winning something for the first time playing live tournaments. Many friends who use to play at real casinos tell its not the same as playing online or with friends, even if the amount of money is the same. At the casino, the pressure is higher. Perhaps that's why this guy never did it before. But, for the first time, taking €800K... wow!!!
