High Stakes: March - a disaster month for Isildur1

March was a disaster month for the Swedish PokerStars Pro Viktor "Isildur1" Blom. According to a tracking site of poker results, Blom lost 977,786 dollars and ended up as the second biggest loser online (only Scott "URnotINdanger2" Palmer lost more - $990,207). Viktor Blom has lost about $470,000 this year and, according to many, he needs to start winning soon before he runs out of cash.

Two players who did very well last month were Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond and Gus Hansen. Galfond, from USA, won about $1,9 million and it's his best month so far this year. Gus Hansen, the Danish Full Tilt Pro, won $1,3 million dollars and is by far the biggest winner online this year with a profit of $3,88 million.

Disaster month? He lost less than a million last month. He used to lose more than that in just one session in the good old Full Tilt days.

so that´s what pros call a downswing. Hard to say what exactly he did so wrong as he is a phantastic player.

I saw him playing the $2/4 PLO tables last night at PS's so after seeing he that he must be down some money now. Everytime I watched him and not in the Showdow he was playing 50/100 tbls and maybe 5K+50 HU's trny on the side. I know this his Showdown record is going down so will see what the future holds.

with the blinds so low at pokerstars compared to fulltilt he must have gone a little too lose and aggressive at tables. 0.5 million is not much of a loss considering his crazy playing style, though hope he cud win some

1kk$ it's big ammount cause he was playing lower stakes then at FTP....
Really big lost for him....
In few months we will see if Pokerstars made mistake by taking him as a star if he is such big looser ;p

To his standards it was a bad month. Me personally i've had a great month,
and not only with poker...... Cool

Yet another great month for the Dane Big Smile How can you not love Gus Hansens play? Tongue

I don't care how good he plays at times he is a so call pro and doesn't know BR Management. If he had put 6.5 million in the bank like a normal person when he won 7 million. He won 2.2 from 2K and then got up to 7 Mil so leaving 500K in BR I think he do alright and he wouldn't be in the position he is now. I'm telling you iof i lost almost 7 million dollars I wanna shoot myself that's just plain stupidity on his part.
 JazzyJeff08/04/2011 22:49:41 GMT

He is kind of a tool, i agree Crazy. This guy will either win very big or loose
everything alltogether.

I have to agree with crazyhorse99 about the bankroll management. This is the first lesson you need to teach before starting playing poker on real money. Many try to play at limits way higher than their bankroll allows it and sometimes win but on the long run they'll go broke.
His biggest mistake by far was that time on Full Tilt Poker when he lost 4.4 Million Dollars and bust his roll.
We'll see what he'll do on this week Superstar Showdown against Scott Palmer, which by the way made a spectacular recovery on the 6 max PLO tables at Full Tilt Poker.

Hey BTW is he playing now only at PokerStars ?? Or he is playing now on PS and FTP because I am not really but I think I saw him at FTP have not noticed is there he... But I think he will get up from this disaster month !
 Hajinnho09/04/2011 11:27:11 GMT
havent seen him so far at Fulltilt and cant really imagine. I mean if stars signs such a story and player they will get sure he will play for them only... Bad for FT they may lost an mystic history that many people will remember for long.
