Everyone's favourite Swede Viktor "Isildur1" Blom has had a massive upswing in the last couple of weeks. According to online-tracking site highstakesdb, over a $1 from his winnings come from heads-up matches (between January 14-17) against PokstflopAction. Blom is the biggest winner online this year with a total profit of $2,154,113 (48,517 hands)!

In 2013, he was up over 5 million dollars during 3 incredible winning streaks. It will be interesting to see if he can beat that "record" this year - without losing most of it (he "only" bagged up a $542k profit in 2013 after a massive downswing that started in October).

In connection with Blom 100, a recent promotion at Full Tilt Poker where 100 lucky players got to play heads-up against Viktor "Isildur1" Blom (Blom ended up winning 62 mathes [38 players received $1,000 each]), the Swedish Full Tilt Pro answered questions from Full Tilt's followers on Twitter. Viktor "isildur1" Blom has been on a terrible downswing in the past few days at Full Tilt Poker's nosebleed tables. The fact is that the young Swede has lost over 1.5 million dollars over the past five days and he's now ranked 8th with a $1.5 million profit on the list of 2013's biggest winners online.

According to highstakesdb, "Sanlker" and Ike "luvtheWNBA" Haxton are two players who have enjoyed Blom's adversity. Sanlker, who's identity is unknown, defeated Blom in an 8-hour-long session on Saturday for $239.3k and Haxton took Blom for $287k in a two-hour session on Sunday. The latter consisted of several coin-flips (most won by Haxton) and some terrible bad beats for Blom.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom is doing extremely well at the moment. According to highstakesdb, the young Swede has won $1,5 million in the past three days against SallyWoo, Kyle "PKR16" Ray, OMGClayAiker, Isaak Haxton, and other regulars at Full Tilt's nosebleed tables! The biggest chunk of the profit comes from SallWoo, who lost $716k to Blom in a few sessions of $500/$1000 CAP PLO yesterday.

The winnings will come in handy for Blom who had lost over 2 million dollars in just one week before his incredible winning streak started. He's now up $3,095,932 (289,208) this year - about 200k less than the biggest winner online, "cottonseed1".

According to highstakesdb, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom was up a six figure amount yesterday before he took on Alex "IreadYrSoul" Millar at Full Tilt Poker's $400/$800 NLH tables. The two played two tables for just about 45 minutes (approx. 200 hands) and Blom ended up losing $425k to Millar.

According to Viktor "Isildur1" Blom's twitter, he will be heading to Vegas January 24-26th to take part in the yearly NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship (NHUPC) at Caesars Palace. A total of 64 players (only invited) will take part in NHUPC, widely considered to be the World Cup of Heads Up in No-Limit Hold'em.

Blom ended up as one of the biggest losers (online) last year, but he has won an incredible $2.4 million this year and is looking extremely strong at the moment. But the question is: Will he stand a chance against the more experienced live players?

The candidates for this year's European Poker Awards have now been revealed. One of the nominees is the high-stakes player Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom from Sweden. Blom is up against Jens Kyllönen, Chris Moorman and last year's winner Ilari Sahamies for the Internet Player of the Year award.

Antonio Esfandiari Wins One Drop and Mind-Blowing $18 Million! 
Who can forget when "The Magician" took down the most expensive tournament in poker history at the 2012 WSOP? The $18 million first place prize sent Esfandiari right to the top of the all-time tournament winnings leaderboard, but even today people are speculating about how much he got to keep of it. That's right! Esfandiari revealed after the win that he didn't pay the buy-in of $1,000,000 all by himself. Click here to read the full story

Yesterday the long-awaited re-match between Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Tom "durrrr" Dwan was played across four $100/$200 No Limit Hold'em tables on Full Tilt Poker.  Both players were supposed to bring $100k each to the tables, but late negations were made and instead they sat down with $200,000 each.

Tom Dwan accumulated a small lead in the beginning of the match thanks to winning an all-in (pre-flop) with KK against Blom's 10's. Blom started playing more aggressive after this, but Tom Dwan handled it well and extended his lead by calling down a few river bluffs.

However, Dwan's lead was never very big and eventually Viktor Blom's super-aggressive style started working. Blom took down the 2 biggest pots of the match and was up about $100k after 1,5 hour of  play. Blom didn't give Dwan a single chance to catch his breathe once he had the big lead. In fact, it didn't take long before Tom Dwan was forced down to one table - where he kept on losing...

After 2 hours and 45 minutes (1381 hands) Dwan lost his final $3.5k with pockets 10's against Blom's A[c]3[c] in an all-in situation before the flop - the board ran out Q[s]8[c]6[d]A[h]6[s]. It was a well-deserved win by the young Swede, who made a name for himself in November 2009 by crushing Tom Dwan at Full Tilt Poker's nosebleed tables. Back then, the two were playing for millions of dollars on daily basis. Let's hope that history repeats itself!

Last Wednesday, Full Tilt Poker announced that its pro members (The Professionals) Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom will once again face each other at the high-stakes heads-up tables!

The two played some epic heads-up matches in November 2009 and Viktor Blom, whose identity was unknown at that time, ended up winning over $5 million from Dwan. The rematch will be played on four No Limit Texas Hold'em tables on Sunday, December 9 at 15:00 ET onwards. Both players will bring $100,000 of their own money and play until one player has it all!

The two players are Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and the press release says that the they will "reignite a fierce competition at the highest stakes tables on the Full Tilt Poker site."

Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom was doing very well at PokerStars' nosebleed tables last Friday and Saturday. He started at the $25/$50 PLO tables but quickly got bored and move over to the $100/$200 PLO tables where patpatman and other regulars were playing.

PokerStars' World Championship of Online Poker Event #64: 8-Game High Roller came to an end a few hours ago. 93 players particapted and PokerStars can't be more happy with the outcome as Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier ($253 425) won the tournament and Daniel Negreanu finished 3rd for $130 200.

In total, 12 players received a piece of the prize pool, including famous players such as Niki "RealAndyBeal" Jedlicka and Sorel Mizzi. Sweden's very own Viktor "Isildur1" Blom also took part in the tournament, but unfortunately he didn't make it to the money. In total, Blom has played 15 WCOOP events and not cashed in a single one of them. Let's hope he has better luck at the nosebleed tables this week! 

It has been very quiet about Viktor "Isildur1" Blom in the past few weeks. The reason for this is mainly due to the fact that the he has been losing a lot of money and not been able to play the highest stakes on PokerStars. However, he was back at $25/50 and $50/$100 PLO tables on Sunday afternoon and took around $100k in no-time, mostly from some heads-up sessions against "Phiserman36".

Yesterday was no different as Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond, Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Ilari Sahamies battled it out at the $200/$400 PLO tables for about 6 hours. Galfond and Sahamies dominated the play and ended up as the biggest winners of the session. In total, Sahamies netted $416k and Galfond $442k.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom was last week's biggest winner online with a profit of $895k - about 360k more than the 2nd biggest winner, Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond. But it wouldn't take long until he lost most of those winnings.

On Monday, Blom took on Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky on four tables of $200/$400 PLO with antes. The match lasted for staggering fifteen hours and included 85 pots of over $100k. Blom lost $200k in the first 60 hands of of play, but then went on a winning streak over the next 1000 hands or so and took $650k from his opponent. At this point Blom was up $1.6 million since Friday.

On Tuesday, PokerStars announced that Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and the site mutually had agreed to part ways. The very next day the world's largest poker site signed comedian Gerry Dee, the star in the weekly sitcom Mr.D on CBC. Dee will represent PokerStars' free-play site PokerStars.net and will be starring in an upcoming PokerStars commercial that will air throughout the fall to promote a series of free online poker tournaments where Canadians can win a trip to Bahamas and play in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

"I'm better at math and statistics than the teacher you see on TV, so I'm not a bad poker player. I'm no pro but I've always been a bit of a poker buff. I really admire the skill it takes to compete at the top level. I'm excited about this partnership and am looking forward to improving my game!" said Dee.

Last night, Eric Hollreiser, PokerStars' head of corporate communications, made the announcement that Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and the company have agreed not to renew his expired contract.

"In his short time as a poker player, Viktor has played against the biggest names in poker at the highest stakes in the toughest games. It's hard to recall a player who has kept the poker world so riveted at such an early stage of his career. We'll be watching with great interest and we wish him nothing but success." Viktor "Isildur1" Blom has been lying low since he returned home after the 2012 World Series of Poker, but yesterday he finally made a comeback on PokerStars. He started in the afternoon with $3-4k stacks on six $25/$50 Pot-Limit Omaha tables. The short-stack strategy worked very well and he built up a nice $40,000 stack in no-time.

Some good news for all you "Isildur1" fans out there. In an interview with a Swedish poker magazine, Viktor Blom, 21, said that he will go to Las Vegas and play his first-ever World Series of Poker event on Tuesday next week.

"I will go there for the NLHE heads-up tournament with $10,000 buy-in and then I try to play as many tournaments as possible until the main event has come to an end. I'm really looking forward to it. It will be really fun! I feel really happy that I get the chance of going there, but it sucks that it's during the summer."
