Both starting days of EPT Deauville have now been completed. Day 1b of the Main Event, which was played yesterday, saw a field of 550 players and many recognizable faces in the poker world. Big names such as Viktor Blom, Vanessa Selbst, Dario Minieri and Jude Ainsworth were eliminated during the early stages of the day, while notables such as Vanessa Rousso, Nacho Barbero, and Team PokerStars SportStar and Olympic Gold Nedalist Fatima Moreira de Melo (picture) made it through the day.

Day 2 of the tournament kicks off at 12:00 p.m. local time and an approximate total of 546 players will continue the long road towards the final table where some serious cash is up for grabs. The 889 entrants have created a prize pool of amazing €4,267,200 and the winner will get €875,000 of it. In total, 128 players will receive a piece of the enormous prize pool.

EPT Deauville history looks quite similar to what happened yesterday at dozn01’s freeroll, with all those big names going home earlier. Dozn01 was the second to left the event and also I was excluded too soon. But it was a great feeling to be playing in community, keep focused for next events like this dozn01, people loved it. About EPT Deauville, I never understood this: there were much more players on day 1b than in day 1a. Does this have to do with the date they register, or is it any other factor that determines whether players go to day1a or day 1b?

oh yeah "the pros"- i have no idea who counts them pro besides themselves and some dudes who think that if you win a few times (or even once) you automatically become a pro- like the same dude who is not a pro before the tourney, immediately becomes one after it if he wins...? i would say the regulars would be a more appropriate word
