Team Online against PokerStars Pro; youth against old timer; blonde hair against dark hair; foreigner against local - all could describe the heads-up between Mickey Petersen and Pierre Neuville. One thing is for sure though - it was one of the most entertaining EPT finals for quite some time and it took six-and-quarter-hours before a winner was crowned, Petersen.

Petersen, who's a well-known and respected tournament player in Denmark, really deserved the win against the Belgian Team PokerStars pro. Firstly, he usually had the best hand when the money went into the center of the table. Secondly, he stayed focused from start to end and didn't let his older, more experienced opponent push him around. Thirdly, he saw that his opponent was getting more and more exhausted and used time to his advantage.

For the win Petersen received DKK 2,515,000 (about 338k Euro - the biggest cash of his entire career) and the Shamballa bracelet. The runner-up, Pierre Neuville, got DKK 1,600,000 and some well-needed sleep.

TOP 9 finishers:

1 Mickey Petersen 2,515,000 PokerStars Team Online
2 Pierre Neuville 1,600,000 PokerStars Team Pro
3 Bjarke Hansen 1,000,000
4 Aage Ravn 740,000 PokerStars qualifier
5 Jacob Rasmussen 490,000
6 Niels van Alphen 390,000 PokerStars qualifier
7 Steve O'Dwyer 290,000
8 Spencer Hudson 191,400
9 Keld Volquardsen 140,000

More than six hours of heads up, must have been quite a game for these two. And looks like the younger took advantage of the age, leading Pierre Neuville to exhaustion. This doesn’t dounds very well when talking about such an experienced player like Neuville, but second place after a huge heads up isn’t that bad, at least he gave great fight for the first prize.
