The WPT Venice Grand Prix Main Event's third day is soon about to start and there are 27 players left. The one who will sit down with the largest stack today is Marcel Bjerkmann from Norway. His biggest tournament achievements so far came in 2010: a Master Classics of Poker title (Amsterdam), a Belgium Open Poker Championship title, and a second place in PokerStars EPT London/Season 7 UKIPT.

Anyhow, he has about a 50k chip advantage to his closest opponent Marko Neumann, and there are many good tournament players with plenty of chips left. In other words, it's still a long way to go for Marcel if he want's to take down his third major poker tournament. The winner will take home $302,065 and the money bubble will burst when 18 players remain. We will return with an update as soon as Day 3 is over.

Still nine players to go home earlier before everyone get a prize in WPT Venice. It is always a tough fight in the back of the chip rank. Even for those who are between 10th and 18th place have nothing guaranteed by now, so these first hours of tourney will always be stressing. When I find myself in a situation like this I tend to be much more nervous. In some tourneys I try not to be always looking at the rank, but when a tourney takes longer time, it is important to know how we are to make a better management of the tourney. The best is not to think about the prize or we tend to commit some mistakes than can cost us a better place.

As always being to chip leader in this stage of the tournament proved more of an curse than a blessing when we look at other similar events...

This WPT edition wasn't advertised too good but it seems the participation was okay Smile

Being from the U.S. I can't find out how to get prior information to try to watch or readup on these tournies. Any suggestions would be appreciated since I can't locate the info on the internet until after the fact. Just always like reading / watching any of the tournaments I can.
