Yesterday we reported that Justin Bonomo, who had a huge lead when the final table begun, was playing against Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Tobias Reinkemeier for the title and a first prize of €1,640,000!

Bonomo had an enormous chip advantage at this point and it didn't take long before he had knocked out both ElkY and Reinkemeier (his toughest opponent on the final table, according to himself) and was the last man standing.

A fantastic achievement and a very well-deserved win by the American poker pro! This is what Bonomo had to say about the biggest tournament cash of his entire career:

"It's so much more money than I've ever won ina poker tournament before," said Bonomo, talking to Laura Cornelius, picking our Reinkemeier, a former EPT High Roller winner here on Monaco as his toughest opponent at the final.

"The final table in terms of skill; Tobias was my best opponent. He's a very good player."

Final table results:
1. Justin Bonomo 1,640,000
2. Tobias Reinkemeier 1,064,000
3. Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier 621,000 PokerStars Pro
4. Patrik Antonius 443,000
5. Masa Kagawa 354,500
6. Daniel Negreanu 310,000 PokerStars Pro

Daniel Negreanu was in a delicate position, amongst with Patrik Antonius and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (this, although having two times the stack of Negreanu). It was very difficult for them to fight against the odds, and final results just showed that.

yeah its always advantageous to be going to the final table with a nice chip stack, especially when your a player like justin bonomo.
great result for him, even more so with the opponents he had on the table.
