High Stakes: Ilari Sahamies Wins $403,000!

There was some really nice action on PokerStars nosebleed tables yesterday, and Finland's very own Ilari Sahamies ended up as the biggest winner of the day. Sahamies started in the morning by winning about $60k at some $200/$400 and $50/$100 PLO tables. However, it was later in the evening that the real action started and he won some serious cash.

Sahamies played two $200/$400 PLO tables for about three hours against regulars such as Jeans89, Ben86, Theo J etc. He was doing extremely well and seemed to be in full control most of the time, and also he managed to take home some really big pots. When he decided to call it a day, he had won amazing $403k! But it could have been more if he didn't run into quads in this hand against fellow countryman Jens "Jeans89" Kyllönen...

Ilari Fin had the small blind and betted 1,200. Jeans89 called. The flop came JClub7Diamond2Spade. Jeans89 checked and Ilari Fin betted $2,398. Jeans89 made the call. The turn card was the 3Spade and Jeans89 checked. Ilari Finbetted $7,194 and Jeans89 called once again. The final card was the 7Spade and Jeans89 checked. Ilari Fin betted $21,582 and Jeans89 went all in for $65,870. Ilari Fin called straight away.

Ilari Fin showed 2DiamondKSpadeJHeartJSpade for a full house - jacks over sevens. Jeans89 showed AClub10Club7Club7Heart for four of a kind 7s and took home the pot of $153,324.

I can’t wait to see what will he post now on the social media. I’m not a “friend” of him and i also don’t “follow” him, but his recent story is very interesting, it’s almost like a novel. These new winnings will contribute for sure ni the reduction of the debt he has to the loaners, but is it enough already, or does he still need more to stop saying he’s broke?
Just a side question: Does anyone knows why losing full house against four of a kind isn’t considered bad beat?

Seriously it's boring.

How is it even a story?

A degenreate gambler wins and loses consistently over several years - wow

man this is an awesome story- all the twists and turns, this is one of the best story i have read in my life Smile probably even better that harry potter and lord of the rings combined...so to cut this awesome story short: part 1- sahamies wins, part 2- sahamies loses, part 3- sahamies borrows, part 4-sahamies loses, part 5-999 sahamies wins sahmies loses....super thrilling

Mr.Sahamies will broke again very soon.
I agree that his recent story is interesting, but feel guilty to read about him for fun also.
Because he does not looks like a professional player, he looks like a patient for me.
I think he seriously needs a finantial coach or a doctor.

I definately need to agree with you, his poker evolution was more dictated by luck than skill. It also helped him the fact that he is over-aggressive and thats why so won some big pots by bluffing.

We'll see his evolution in the future but i really think that he needs to implement some discipline in his life.

not sure how he started out- i mean did he go from zero to hero or did he deposit lots of money from his own pockets (or took a loan as it's usual with him Big Smile ) but you cannot deny hte fact that he has some skill- i don't think he is a degenerate- he probably just tries to play over aggressive, but i think he does this on purpose, remember he always is playing against the best players in the world and ends up winning quite a few time- so i think with his over aggressive playing style he tries to establish an edge in his game...not sure it works in the long run...
