Viktor "Isildur1" Blom was last week's biggest winner online with a profit of $895k - about 360k more than the 2nd biggest winner, Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond. But it wouldn't take long until he lost most of those winnings.
On Monday, Blom took on Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky on four tables of $200/$400 PLO with antes. The match lasted for staggering fifteen hours and included 85 pots of over $100k. Blom lost $200k in the first 60 hands of of play, but then went on a winning streak over the next 1000 hands or so and took $650k from his opponent. At this point Blom was up $1.6 million since Friday.
However, things changed drastically over the next 3,500 hands as Sulsky took back all the money he had lost plus another $1.1 million. Blom started getting really frustrated and angry when Sulsky wanted to take a 5-minute break to visit the bathroom. Shortly after, Sulsky wanted to take a break for 10 minutes to have a coffee, but Blom said no once again. However, he apologised for his behaviour in the chat:
Isildur1 "I'm sorry. I'm so tired"
Sauce123 "Me too"
Isildur1 "I haven't slept for 3 days. Let's continue now"
The session continued and Blom finally managed to win some nice pots. When Sulsky called it a day, Blom was "only" down $634,000.
Here is the biggest pot of the epic 15-hour match:
Sauce123 betted $1,360 from the dealer button and Isildur1 raised to $4,240. Sauce123 called.
The flop came J84 and Isildur1 betted $5,600. Sauce123 raised to $18,888 and Blom made the call. The turn card was the 2, Isildur1 checked and Sauce123 betted $46,414. Isildur1 went all in for his last $79,203 and Sauce123 called.
Sauce123 1089J
Isildur1 Q4AQ
The turn card was the A and Isildur1 took home the pot of $204,661 with two pair - aces and fours.
