On Wednesday, the organisers of the European Poker Tour announced that Vienna, Austria will replace Berlin, Germany as the sixth stop of the EPT Season 10. It was three years ago since the EPT made a stop in the capital of Austria and saw Germany's Michael Eiler winning the Main Event for €700,000 after besting a 578-strong field, including Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu on the final table.

The tournament will take place March 19-29, 2014 at The Hofburg Palace in central Vienna, and the tournament will be operated in coporation with the Concord Card Casino Group, which operates 13 poker rooms in Austria. The highlights of EPT Vienna will be a €10,300 High Roller event and a €5,300 Main Event!

"Due to a unique opportunity in Vienna, we have decided to change the location of the sixth EPT stop this year," said EPT President Edgar Stuchly. "The Hofburg Palace is a spectacular venue with a grand history, and moving the EPT there enables us to offer a great player experience. The venue can fit over 100 tables and we will be able to provide an amazing tournament schedule with a wide variety of games including cash games in the Hofburg."

Awesome location. There's something magical about Vienna (not that I have been) in terms of reputation and all the historical stuff that has happened there.
So much culture and now some EPT as well - not a bad place to get knocked out early Smile

Well you know what THAT means...... There should be a bunch of corresponding EPTLive daily freerolls on PokerStars,....in which I seem to do very well in for SOME reason... Smile Thumbs Up Dollar Dollar Dollar

It seems everytime there's an EPT tourney over there,....the freerolls show up on PokerStars...!

I'm patiently waiting! Sleepy

One or two months before the Event in Vienna will be more poker rooms running freerolls for EPT,like Party Poker,Unibet and from iPoker Network. It seems to be free but is the same amount of work to be done to reach the Event. So in my opinion make the money for buy in where you are good and not in a freeroll where is one ticket a a prize

Excellent choice of location for the tournament. Vienna is a beautiful place in a beautiful old city. I am waiting to broadcast. 'll Be sure to watch!
It is a pity that this year will not be the tournament in Berlin, but "PokerStars" try to make EPT more interesting. So new plase is good.

Guys this is so real! Vienna is about 700 KM far from here and this is maybe my chance to play live poker event. SO just to see what requierments is needed or how much is direct buy-in. I want to take place in this Event. GL

a very beautiful location to play poker but i cant see berlin being to happy with this decision. the last time they played in austria they had 578 players yet they still moved it to berlin. how do they pick these locations? it must go to the highest bidder or they would never have moved from vienna 3 years ago.

For some reason Vienna was always a great place for ept events it gathered so many top pros.

Considering the awesome action we had on the last one i presume this one will be pretty similar, now i hope that will be aired so i can watch it Smile

I dont understand why Berlin no being hapy for that? THey are rivals ? Or maybe because Germany is not host of this tournaments?

Go Vienna, sick place, watched some photos and videos about that place, I love it. Will consider to go there for vacation when I am rich enough or when I am old enough using my pension funds!!

Anyway the year is coming to an end and I hope that it finished with a good final table where there will be juicy actions and what not. Let's say like 5-6 of the top players of the moment.

Hope Daniel Negreanu makes it this year, he did not manage to win last year, hope he gets the crown, he had a good first part of the year, not a good one coming to the half way mark but near the finished he just won the WSOPE high roller and hope he finishes the year on top!
