Big Names Still In Hunt at WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown

Tags: Faraz Jaka, Kevin Eyster, WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown.
Posted on 15 April 2013 by "T".

542 players entered the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown main event over Day 1A and Day 1B last week. Now, after 3 days of play, there are 21 players left fighting for the first prize of a whopping $660,395! The chip leader is Kevin Eyster with 1.9 million and Champions Club member Tony Ruberto (1.5 million) and Faraz Jaka (1.47 million - left in picture) are ranked second and third in chips.

A part from Jaka and Ruberto, notables such as Jeff Madsen, Matt Salsberg (right in picture), Ben Hamnett and Matt Giannetti will return to the tables today. At the moment it looks like we will have a few familiar faces at the final table, but, of course, anything can happen in the game of poker.

We will be back with another update tomorrow! Stay tuned!

Having led the tournament for two days, Shaun Deeb couldn't maintain his run and eventually lost his chips with pocket jacks against Anthony Lombard's pocket queens.
With Deeb watching from the rail, it was Kevin Eyster who assumed control of the tournament with 1,904,000 chips.
That stack was enough to lead the 21 survivors, which included Faraz Jaka (1,470,000), Jeff Madsen (805,000) and Matt Salsberg (746,000), towards tomorrow's final table and $660,395 top prize.

Big names always bring more fun to a big event like this. It will be much more televised and more people will want to know about it. But knowing about their losses with unknown players is also so interesting that everyone that starts watching something like this will want to watch it until the end.
