Dean Hutchison is the champion of the 2014 PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour Edinburgh Main Event after defeating Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree heads-up! It was a very thrilling battle for the title and the first prize of £93,900, and the fact is Boeree was only one card away from the title at the beginning of the match...

Hutchison three-bet all in for 1.7 million with AHeart4Diamond and Boeree snapped called with KHeartKClub. The flop came down 5Diamond7Diamond2Heart and gave Hutchison a gutshot straight draw. The JDiamond turn game him a flush draw as well and, unfortunately for Boeree, the 3Club completed the board and Hutchison took down the pot with a straight.

Even battle for the title

The two took turns at holding the chip lead over the next 90 minutes before Boeree flopped top two pair only for Hutchison to turn a pair and river a better two-pair. Boeree was left with less than 20 big blinds after that hand and decided to shove only 10 minutes later with 5Club3Club on a 4Diamond5Spade6Club flop. A decent hand but not as good as Hutchison's 6Spade5Diamond. The KClub turn and 8Diamond river was no good for Boeree and Hutchison was crowned the champion!

UKIPT4 Edinburgh Final Table result:
1st. Dean Hutchison, United Kingdom, PokerStars Player - £93,900
2nd. Liv Boeree, United Kingdom, Team PokerStars Pro - £59,180
3rd. Jason Beazley United Kingdom - £42,430

According to an poker news outlet anywhere else this went down by the board having 4 Diamond 5 Spade 6 Club and with this enlighting new information it seems the winner with two pairs was the guy not the gal.

Pretty unlucky for her, she got it in 2 times like a favourite and both times she has lost.

Liv Boeree got really unlucky in this heads up and it seems that she deserved to win this thing. You always need a bit of luck to win these tournaments and on another day she would be the champion. Unlucky Liv but well done to Dean

Love the last pic, she is not showing any emotion and I love that picture. Anyway it was a flip on last hand both could have gotten the straight and the pot would have been split. Sad she did not managed to win but congrats for being in the final 2!

I support the worldwide poker conspiracy by giving away all my belongings with one badbeat at a time.
