Day 3 of the $10,000 World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic came to a close when 63 players remained and the money bubble bursted. The final 63 players that will return for Day 4 tonight are guaranteed to take home at least $18,970 and the chip leader is Jesse Yaginuma (picture) with 804,000.
Yaginuma (Silver Spring, MD, United States) finished in third place in the 2013 LAPT for $429,810 - by far the biggest cash of his entire live tournament career. He needs to finish at least runner-up ($662k) this time to break his previous record!
Although many big names didn't make it through Day 3 (Daniel Negreanu, JC Tran, Erik Seidel, Scott Seiver, Marvin Retternmaier, Antonio Esfandiari etc), there are a few familiar faces left in the mix of players with plenty of chips to work: Jennifer Tilly (639,500 chips), Dan O'Brien (450,000) and Matthew Waxman (280,000) - just to mention 3.
The plan for Day 4 is to play until only 18 players remain. Tune back tomorrow for further updates from the Commerce Casino in Southern California.
