WPT Championship: Day 1A Ends With 62 Players; Paul Volpe Leads

Paul VolpeOn Monday, Day 1A of the World Poker Tour World Championship kicked at Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, USA. A total of 105 players (most them well-known pros from the U.S.) showed up and 62 made it through the day with Paul Volpe (US pro with over 2.4 million in live tournament earnings) out in front with 215,300. Other notable players that bagged up plenty of chip were Jerry Wong (198,000), Brandon Steven (195,500), Scott Seiver (192,500) and Anthony Gregg (190,600).

The second starting day begins at 11 a.m. ET. Players that fell during Day 1A will be able to register again today while registration remains open until the start of Level 7. We will be back with another brief update tomorrow morning!

Man, I have not heard anything about these players for a long time.

Online poker should be legal again in USA.

I know its day 1A but what the hell? That's one tiny field size for such a decent event.

I swear if you went back five years there'd be 200+ easily. Poker seems to be dying slowly.

I cant believe that there were only 105 entries on day 1a of such a prestigious event. I would have expected a lot more entries than this so it will be interesting to see how many more entries they get

The presence is not so good if you ask me, i mean just a bit over 100 players is not that much...

Still, the quality of players registered seems to be very high indeed so the action should be pretty good Big Smile

It´s day 1A, there will be other people in flight B.

But still 200 players isn´t that much either.
