68 of 328 players are "alive 'n' kicking" after two days of play at World Poker Tour World Championship (sponsored by PartyPoker) in Atlantic City, USA. The chip leader is Eric Afriat (Champions Club) with 1,003,000 and he's well ahead of the rest of the field.
In fact, Afriat is about 430k ahead of his closest competitor: Anthony Gregg (567,000 - Champions Club). Besides Gregg, notables such as Scott Seiver (539,500 - (Champions Club) and Jason Koon (505,500) bagged up nice stacks at the end of Day 2. However, the biggest poker star in the competition is Phil Hellmuth, though, the 13-time World Series of Poker champion needs to fight hard to stay alive during day 3 as he only has 54,000 left to work with.
Day 3 will begin at 12:00 p.m. ET. The plan is to play down to a field of 27 but plans could be adjusted depending on the peace of play, according to WPT's website. You'll find another brief update here tomorrow morning!
