Hello everyone. I hope you are all having a good day! Sorry about not getting a blog post out sooner been putting it off a bit hehe, before I get to part two of our Tao of Gus I wanted to do a bit of an update and talk about my picture.
This hand was funny because it remind me of the High stakes poker hand between Daniel Negreanu and Gus Hansen other then the fact that I was all in pre flop on my hand and not playing for a half a million!
Update: Have had a few good MTT finishes as of late I finished second in a bankroll league putting my Eighty first on the leader board and another second in a small tournament. Been slowly adding to the tally for freeroll wins in a few weeks I'll do a post focused on an update for that I think it was a bit misunderstood I am not only playing freerolls I am just keeping track of the wins from free rolls and playing more then usual. Had an awesome weekend at my Uncles cottage on the long weekend lots of sun and the cottage next door happen to be rented out by about of Brazilians some of which looked very very good in there bikinis!
Tao of Gus (Part 2)
When we left Gus was looking down at Ace King of diamonds in the straddle. It's folded around to the cut-off, A rather plump looking fellow Gus happens to know quite well named Little Tom who raises to $4800. The Button and small both fold and Gus proceeds to call.
Flop: Q(d) 10(c) J(c)
Bam, Gus has flopped Broadway and after a moment of silent celebration he taps the table to check. Things are looking pretty good for our boy here, short of Tom making a flush Gus should make a nice pot here. Little Tom thinks for a few moments before reaching for chips and betting $6200, Gus calls.
The turn is a three of spades not a very intimating card. Gus ponders on making a bet for a few seconds but decides its better to check to the aggressor. Tiny Tom quickly reaches toward his stack and starts to count out chips with his grubby bear paws he calls hands. Gus can feel his heart beat rising, 'What could he have?' He thinks to himself. Tiny has finished his pile.... and what a pile he raises $19000. The whole room has fallen completely silent by now. Everyone focused on the pot at hand. Gus looks down at his stack he had bought in with $40000 and before the hand was sitting with a nice round 200k. The pot at this point with the nineteen grand included was $44500 and Gus decides to again flat call figuring the turn wasn't dangerous and he figured Tom was on a flush draw with top pair or possibly three of a kind. The river is a ten of hearts after a quick check Tom goes all in for his remaining 104k!!! followed by a very confident lean back in the chair.
'What the fuck! He has to have a boat what else could he have?!?!?' Gus looks down at his Ace King. He looks over at Tiny who is starring straight back in his direction looking pretty nervous and sweating profusely 'Did he river me? Should I have been more aggressive? Fuck it'
"I call." Gus says has he flips over his Big slick and prays to god he just won the biggest pot of the night. The crowd and especially Gus is astonished as Tiny Tom reaches for his cards and mucks them not saying a single word.
