Many well-known poker pros signed up for the €10,200 buy-in single-day EPT Malta High Roller on Monday. When the registration desk had closed, not less than 99 players (+33 re-entries) had joined the tournament to create a prize pool of €1,299,800!
At about 3:30 this morning, Steve O'Dwyer had all the chips in play after having eliminated Finland's Illari Sahamies in second place. The American poker pro (resides in Ireland) received €327,030 for his first-place finish, and he now has over $11 million in live tournament earnings! Aside from this single-day High Roller title, he has EPT Grand Final and EPT Super High Roller titles on his poker resume.
