Iaron Lightbourne claimed the biggest payday of his career yesterday after taking down the World Poker Tour UK Main Event, a tournament that drew 450 entrants who battled it out for several days.
Although it wasn't a fast-paced final table, the heads-up against Craig McCorkel only lasted four hands, with both players going all-in pre flop in the final hand: McCorkell with A10 and Lightbourne with 77. The board ran out 5J58Q and McCorkell was eliminated in second place for £140k.
Final table results:
1. Iaron Lightbourne £200,000 2. Craig McCorkell £140,000 3. Fraser Bellamy £90,000 4. Andrew Seden £65,000 5. Russell Betts £50,000 6. Chi Zhang £40,000
many congratulations for the one and only Iaron Lightbourne, he just dominated his partner on and off the bed and in the spare time managed to World Poker Tour UK Main Event. even bigger congratulations go to Iaron Lightbourne for managing to hold on that huge bowl of steel and hopefully not sh1t and not to drop it while posing.

I agree with you Pochui....that is one hell of a trophy he has won and it does seem somewhat out of place,I know it is a WPT but it is not WSOP main event and it wasn't really a tournament with all the worlds best either.

Five hundred participants are a quality crowd no matter what since it was in the UK.

it's a modern trend i believe... the smaller the event- the bigger the trophy...
