WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star: Reigning Champ Leads After Day 1A

James Carroll - Photo by Joe Giron106 players (311 entries) survived the first day of World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star $7,500 Main Event. The defeating champion of this event, James Carroll, bagged up the chip lead at the end of the first day.

Carroll, who has 297,600 chips, received $10,000 in prize money thanks to a special promotion run by the Bay 101 Casino in San Jose, California. Other familiar names that will return with big stacks today include Brian Rast (237,000) and Faraz Jaka (219,700).

Many Shooting Stars and big names didn't survie Day 1A - just to mention a few: Joe Hachem, Scott Seiver, Jared Jaffee, Keven Stammen, Anthony Zinno, Antonio Esfandiari, JC Tran, Scotty Nguyen, Noah Schwartz, and Daniel Negreanu.

That is quite and impressive list of players who have failed to make their way through the first day. Quite amazing to see that the reigning champion is chip leader after the first day and it will be interesting to see how he gets on

Joe Hachem, Scott Seiver, Jared Jaffee, Keven Stammen, Anthony Zinno, Antonio Esfandiari, JC Tran, Scotty Nguyen, Noah Schwartz, Daniel Negreanu. Boom - now this is a list of names that I could absolutely recognize without a problem, yet none of them survived day one. I guess this tournament doesn't care about my interest at all. Big Smile
