106 players (311 entries) survived the first day of World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star $7,500 Main Event. The defeating champion of this event, James Carroll, bagged up the chip lead at the end of the first day.
Carroll, who has 297,600 chips, received $10,000 in prize money thanks to a special promotion run by the Bay 101 Casino in San Jose, California. Other familiar names that will return with big stacks today include Brian Rast (237,000) and Faraz Jaka (219,700).
Many Shooting Stars and big names didn't survie Day 1A - just to mention a few: Joe Hachem, Scott Seiver, Jared Jaffee, Keven Stammen, Anthony Zinno, Antonio Esfandiari, JC Tran, Scotty Nguyen, Noah Schwartz, and Daniel Negreanu.
