Bertrand Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and award winning rapper MC HotDog (check out his poker song POKER STAR) and several other poker pros and celebreties are currently in South Korea for the 2015 Asia-Pacific Poker Tour Seoul.

The Main Event, the highlight of the event, kicked off two days ago and attracted 241 entries over two starting days, but, unfortunately, neither Grospellier or MC HotDog were among the 89 players who made it through to Day 2, which kicks off at 12:00 PM local time.

The remaining field of poker players will be lead into Day 2 by Takahiro Nakai, from Japan, with 186,700 in chips. Besides Nakai, another 6 Japanese poker players are in the top 10 of the chip counts.

The plan for Day 2 is to play down to a final table, and the last 27 players will receive a chunk of the 645 million (approx. 589,200 USD) prize pool. We will be back with a final table recap on Monday morning.

I was in the belief that South Korea (goverment) doesn't like gambling but it seems playing poker is passable there. Also this guy might be an award winning rapper but his stage name is far the most stupid one I've ever saw. At least he could try to be 'dawg' or something like that.

But about the tournament, in that market the poker comunity is trying to get into, because they have china and macau on side and the possibility of grow up the econamy is huge so maybe they try to improve and get know of their market around there.

I thought the same as bowie on this one,I am pretty sure I read somewhere that most gambling in South Korea was illegal but it looks like things have changed now.The internet does make gambling more mainstream now and it now seems most countries have realised this and now are more concerned with raising taxes from gambling.
