Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier defeated a star-packed field of 550 entries in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Six Max event. Mercier received the top prize of $633,357 and his third gold bracelet. His first two bracelets came in Pot-Limit Omaha events.

"I haven't won one yet. That's kind of what feels good about it, Mercier told WSOP reporters about winning his first bracelet in No-Limit Hold'em.

Mercier has had a tough series until this win, cashing in only one event.

"It feels great. I was really down on myself. I was getting beat up in cash, busting every tournament. This is the first tournament I made Day 2 of. It feels really good just to go deep, make the final table, and to win is just the cherry on top," said Mercier.

Well done to Jason Mercier but he was definitely a player who I expected to do well this year and after some online success prior to the WSOP he is probably a name we will see more of this year.

Well, this 6max final table was a nationality mix again, right? A guy from the UK, one from Italy, a fella from Ukraine and Australia plus two americans. Most rainbowy final table this year (though we probably had some mixed finals as well which I forgot already) as far as I remember.
