Although the registation desks are open until the start of Day 2, we already know for a fact that the EPT Barcelona Main Event, with 1,673 entries, is the biggest Main Event in the history of the European Poker Tour! (The previous record was set in 2011 when 1,560 players entered the PCA Main Event).
989 survivors have made it through to Day 2 from Day 1's two starting flights. Leading the way is Day 1B's chip leader Smauel Bernabeu with 203,000 in chips. The Spaniard, who has won a Deep Stack Extravaganza in Las Vegas and made the final table of an Estrellas Poker Tour event, is the only one with more than 200k in chips. However, there are several players who aren't far behind in the chip counts, so Day 2 will definitely not be a walk in the park for Bernabeu.
As you can imagine there are lots of poker stars left in the competition. Just to mention a few:
Jude Ainsworth, 155800
Gaelle Baumann, 107700
Ryan Riess, 103500
Jan Heitmann, 67400
