Not less than 603 players entered the Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event for €1,100 each to create the biggest ever Main Event in Unibet Open history! The final table was played over the weekend with 7 of 9 being Romanians. Despite that fact, it was UK's Eli Heath who dominated a big part of the final day of the tournament.
Heath's smooth ride eventually came to an end when he played heads-up for the title against Traian Bostan, who had come back from less than four big blinds to build up a big stack earlier during the final day! It was a hard-fought battle by the two, but eventually Bostan managed to take the command, grinding his opponent down!
Heath shoved his final 14 big blinds with queen-seven off suit only to be snap-called with ace-queen suited by Bostan. The board ran out jack-high and Heath was elimited in second for €64k. Bostan lifted the trophy in the Grand Ballroom of JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel. He received €100k in prize money and a package for the next Unibet Open stop in London in February 2017.
