The scheduled 3-day event had to extend one more, fourth day in order for a top winner to be determined, and in the end it was Adam Friedman who took down Event #18: $10,000 Dealer's Choice 6-Handed Championship, outlasting a total field of 111 entries to win the prize money of $293,275 and his second-career WSOP bracelet.

This amount was the 36-year-old poker pro's biggest live tournament score of his career, and now it has boosted his total live tournament earnings to $2,451,537.

Friedman replied when asked about the tournament's toughness level, "In terms of the $10k events, this one is right up there. You need to know how to play 20 games. How many people are at least competent in at least 20 games? Not many. I think this takes as much skill as any other event."

This was the fourth consecutive annual run of the $10,000 buy-in Dealer's Choice Event in WSOP history. Players were given a chance to choose from 20 various games, with a wide variety of flop, draw, and stud variants available.

At the beginning of day 3, there were only 13 players left. At the end of 10 levels of play, 3 players remained, and a decision was made to call it a day and have the three return for one final day of action.

Onto the 4th and final day of play, Friedman began as the chip lead. As the action ensued, fo a time his other two opponents were battling for the chip lead, but Friedman was able to fight his way back into the lead.

As the final hand comes in, Friedman had already built almost a 4-to-1 advantage. On sixth street in stud eight-or-better, the money got all-in with Rutter having a pair of deuces and a low draw versus Friedman's queens up. Rutter made an inferior two pair on seventh street, thereby making Friedman the winner of this event.

Friedman said about poker as his career, "The whole point of doing this for a living is to be able to put yourself in a better standing. To be able to provide for yourself and the people around you. And eventually accumulate wealth."

the winner says that in order to play this format- 6 handed dealers choice you have to be competent in 20 games and I must admit that this sounds really attractive. surely some dudes make a silly mistake here and there and if you stay alert you have a good chance to pick up some relatively easy chips

These sorts of tournaments must be the most difficult to win because of the range of different games being played. Congratulations to Stuart Rutter on finishing runner-up and i hope he can go one better in future events

I wonder, how can they play a game for that long.
I am getting tired playing a few hours in a tournament the same day.
And they have to go back again and again.
Arent they get stressed with all that waiting ? Smile

Only those players who know these games can play at such a tournament with an entry of 10.000 dollars. You can not get bored or be stressed because they are professional players and patience is one of their skills. These Gamblers love to play for many hours. Congratulations for the winner of this game.
