Scheduled from June 3 to July 3, 2018, Event #11: $365 PLO GIANT of the 2018 WSOP has now come to an end, and the one who outlasted a field of 3,250 entries is Canadian Tim Andrew, who has won his very first bracelet with his first cash at the WSOP series.

This tournament format of the popular game of pot-limit Omaha is a new one offered by WSOP and it has a very affordable buy-in price for its players. The $365 PLO GIANT event had five starting flights, with each flight scheduled on a Sunday evening all throughout June. Surviving players from all those flights returned into one field on July 2, Monday and battled to reach the final table. It was 31-year-old Tim Andrew from British Columbia who won the event, claiming his first gold bracelet in what would be the very first WSOP event he had entered.

Andrew entered the final table tied for 3rd chip position. He actually came in around 30 minutes late, unable to wake up on time despite setting an alarm. With the Rio 15 minutes away from where he's staying, he woke up and figured he's going to miss some hands regardless, so he took a nice cool shower prior to heading over to take his seat at the final table.

Andrew survived to the short-handed play with a healthy stack, even though he did not knock out any players in the process. It was actually Pedro Arroyos who scored the most knockouts on the final table.

As the final hand draws near, Arroyos had a 3-to-1 chip advantage but Andrew fought well enough to defeat him and claim the bracelet plus the first place prize money.
