Jones, Weinman and Walton are the last three men standing for the coveted championship title.
The record-breaking 2023 WSOP Main Event is getting closer to crowning a winner at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. What started as a staggering field of 10,043 entries who shelled out the $10,000 buy-in for the biggest live poker event of the year, only three players remain to battle it out for the lion's share of the colossal $93,399,900 prize pool.
Steven Jones sat on the top of the leaderboard with 238,000,000 chips to his name, while Daniel Weinman (199,000,000) and Adam Walton (165,500,000) are trailing close behind. The chip leader holds 119 big blinds while Walton still has around 83 big blinds at his arsenal, promising deep-stacked action for the exciting conclusion of the tournament.
The penultimate tournament day witnessed a total of 116 hands, during which the field was whittled down from nine aspirants to only three contenders left, all who hail from the United States.
Loud "USA, USA, USA" chants were heard from all over the Horseshoe Event Center when the time for bagging and tagging came, and the first winner from the United States shall be crowned once more since John Cynn won back in 2018.
