Final Table Action
Three players returned to play down to a winner. Swedish online legend Niklas Astedt started as chip leader, but later on Jordan Griff sent him to the rail in third place.
It was an intense battle between Tamayo and Griff, with the latter having 75% of chips in play. Tamayo refused to go down easy. Finally, on the 235th hand of the final table and 65th of heads-up play, Tamayo moved all in to which Griff called. Tamayo's decision went well for him as he won the final hand and the world championship.
Tamayo has now become the winner of the WSOP Main Event with highest number of player attendance in poker history.

Winner's Reaction
Tamayo could not believe he was the last one left standing from 10,112 players, the largest field in Main Event history, and he's happy to receive the diamond-encrusted gold bracelet.
The newly-crowned poker champion said: "Not real life. My roommate's picture is right there from 2015. We both have banners now. What in the world just happened. I'm just kind of taking it in right now. Because this perspective, and actually, let's take a perspective photo just so I can have one for myself. This is what it looks like from here."
He then stood behind the table where he had just battled Griff for hours, and took out his phone to snap a selfie.
Tamayo was fortunate to have someone who's experienced this all before. McKeehen was on his rail throughout the final table giving tips about how to navigate through this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The two shared a house in Las Vegas throughout the WSOP that now boasts the distinction of being the only one with two Main Event bracelets. McKeehen was even given the honor by WSOP VP Jack Effel of handing Tamayo his newest jewelry.
The Main Event is the one tournament in the poker calendar that doesn't totally rely on star power. It is where stars are made. Chris Moneymaker was an accountant from Tennessee before sparking the poker room with his epic win in 2003. Greg Raymer was a lawyer, Joe Hachem a chiropractor in Australia. The Main Event made them household names as they emerged triumphant from a field of thousands.

This came to an end, this player named Jonathan Tamayo has won more than 10 million dollars in this great tournament, a great bracelet for the world series, he will always remember this in his life, a great experience for him.
Jonathan Tamayo is a great player, he has turned 10k into more than 10 million dollars, but he also had several days head to head and always fell to his side, poker in tournaments is like that, and this time it was this great player's turn. player.
I hadn't heard about Jonathan Tamayo before this win , first time I read about him , and now I searched a little the web , wiki says very few things , he had 2 million dollars wins , some wsop poker circuit rings , if i read correctly . Not sth extraordinary about .
Only thing , he was friendly with Joe McKeehen , a previous main event winner (2015 i think ??)) , close friends , and roommates in every wsop , sharing expenses . Both friends won it
Winning the first place can't be compared with anything else, but reaching final table also with that amount of money... The moment they reached final table, they all had at least 1 million in their pockets
a lot of money for these professionals, but that's what happens in hard games and we can get used to such prizes at the WSOP final table for the most important event.
Congratulations to Tamayo, how beautiful the wsop was. The main event gave us many emotions, great tournaments, a new record of participants was broken, surely next year the record will be broken again, it is an event that everyone wants to see.
