Both starting days of the WPT Venice main event are in the books now, and the second day is running as we write this short update. There are 91 players remaining with poker amateur Stephen Behm out in front with 188,000. Marvin Rettenmaier (ranked 4th with 129k) and Mike Sexton (ranked 9th with 99k) are the biggest names among the top 10 players. Other big names with chips left are, just to mention a few, Kara Scott, Alessio Isaia, Liv boeree, Matt Salsberg and Dan Cates (picture).

After eight-levels of thrilling poker, the third day's player field had been narrowed down from 27 players to a final table with only 6 players, and for the third successive day it was Jackson Genovesi who had the lead. Jackson will bring 1,553,000 chips to today's final table, and his closest opponent is Yorane Kerignard with 1,422,000 chips.

The 2011 WPT Venice Main Event has finally got a winner. After 8 hours and 20 minutes, the heads-up battle between Alessio Isaia and Szabolcs Mayer finally came to an end and Isaia took home the top prize of €380,000!

It's not every day that a heads-up last for that long! In fact, the heads-up between Isaia and Mayer is the longest in World Poker Tour history! Let's just hope that it won't happen too often though! :)
