The female participants in the Ladies Event at the Battle of Malta poker festival were in for a weird and awkward surprise when they sat down to play cards on Sunday night.

Based from social media posts, the €110 NLHE Ladies Event at Casino Malta appeared more like a strip poker game, as all of the all-male dealers at the tables were shirtless.

The PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) Main Event (£1,100 buy-in) is underway! The tournament, which is being played on the Isle of Man (home of PokerStars' headquarter) for the first time in history, kicked off yesterday and saw 113 entries.

After 8-levels of play, Day 1A concluded with last season's Online Qualifier of the Year Dara O'Kearney as the chip leader of the 54 players who made it through the day. O'Kearney had a very slow start and dropped to around 18k chips halfway through the first day, but then he went on a winning streak (the poker gods can be nice sometimes) and climbed to the very top of the leader board in the last few levels of play.
