After 3 days of play at Casino Cosmopol in Stockholm, the Swedish Championship Main Event finally got a winner, Louis Nyberg. Nyberg entered heads-up with a 2-1 chip lead and it didn't take long before he defeated his last opponent, Felix Wictorian, and laid hands on the first place prize of 716,000 sek (about €79,555).

Louis Nyberg finished second in the Pot Limit Omaha event at the Swedish Championship last year, so the Main Event win must have felt extra good for him. A big congratulations to the new champion!

Marcus Petersson is the new swedish champion of poker. Petersson made it to the final table with a small stack, but somehow he managed to double up a couple of times and after 6 hours of play he was playing heads-up against Johan Beg. It only took one hand before both players were all in - Petersson with AA and Berg with AJ. Marcus Petersson's pocket aces, believe it or not, stood up all the way to the river and he's now the new swedish champion of poker. For the win he received the first place prize of €44,240.
