The best woman rock band singer is Dinah Cancer(not her real name, in case you were wondering, lol) from "45 Grave". A great band and a great singer. And ofcourse Siouxie!

Agree... but anyway, I'd stick at TARJA TURUNEN as the best modern woman-singer of rock band.
First of all, she is the only one opera soprano-voice singing with gothic-metal rock band (Nightwish till 2005) and secondly - even though she is from cold Finland, but she is so hot woman with totally awesome angelic voice... I TARJA with Nightwish ----> forever !!!

Posted by B1gfoot: From the list it has to be Robert Plant I gotta Whole Lotta Love for him, would expect him t bring it on home providing there is no Communication Breakdown it should be Celebration Day for him unless people are Dazed And Confused wich would be a Custard Pie in his face, leaving his Friends to make you run For Your Life perhaps im Rambling On now well thats Nobody's Fault But Mine..
Some outhers that spring to mind Anthony Kiedis,syd barrett,Steven Tyler,Josh Homme,Chris Cornell,David Gilmour,Brian Johnson,Roger Waters,Michael Hutchence,Thom Yorke...and not sure for female..kinda not rock or are they? Debbie Harry(true rock),Gwen Stefani,Alanis Morissette,Kate Bush--still lover her.
+100 Man, this has got to be the post of the year (and it's still March)! The "tall cool one" is my personal fave since I put that live "Song Remains The Same" vinyl on the stereo back in high school and never looked back. Zep fan to the bone, I can't see anything coming close to Plant and his milestone "squeeze the golden god's lemon" approach! Not even Jagger which by the way kicks some major *ss in my book. Keep the spirit!

WOW - Lot's of votes for Freddie Mercury !
Hmm, it's a tough call- but I've been listening to quite a bit of Nirvana lately- so maybe I'll put forward Kurt Cobain as a front man.. In terms of male vocalists in general - for me it's gotta be Leonard Cohen.

Voted for Freddie Mercury, but I love Led Zeppelin so not an easy choice! Every time I hear "Another One Bites the Dust" I am transported back in time to 1981 when I was 12, my older brother driving a 1975 Monte Carlo with modified 350 V-8, huge boat of a car, off to the local ball park for a game of baseball between a gang of friends, that song comes on and we blast it. Memories...
