Alan Gold Wins Full Tilt Poker UKIPT Galaway Main Event ($187,494)

A big congratulations to Alan Gold of Scotland, the champion of the Full Tilt Poker UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) Galway Main Event! Gold, who qualified for the event through a satellite at Full Tilt Poker, brought the largest stack to the final table, which was played yesterday, and it only took about four hours of play until he was the last man standing. It was one of the fastest final tables in UKIPT history.

That's his first major win. Congrats to him on the good job. That's a lot of money for a regular guy.
I think this is basically the dream of any poker amateur - to hit one big pot that'll make all those long nights in front of the screen worthwhile.

Agreed. I would love that sort of money playing poker then being smart I would take the $100,000 for myself and reinvest the rest in poker. £10,000 would do me. Big Smile

Looking at his GPI score - http://www.globalpokerindex.com/poker-players/alan-gold...
it seems that his biggest win this year was about 2.5K$, If he's a tournament pro it is a very rough year for him...
Judging from his GPI status he must be an amatour

Well done to Alan Gold on winning this event. I cant remember another Scottish poker player winning such a big tournament. Many congratulations and enjoy the money
