EPT Barcelona Main Event: Tom Middleton Leads Final 24

Although various players had the chip lead during Day 4, Tom Middleton once again bagged up the lead at the end of play. The Englishman started Day 3 with 1,030,000 chips (the only player with 1m+ chips) and will bring nothing less than 3,986,000 chips to Day 4, which will see 24 players returning to the tables.

Unfortunately none of the former EPT winners survived Day 4 (Mikalai Pobal 79th place, Kent Lundmark 64th place & Dimitar Danchev 44th place), so now we will have to wait until EPT London in October to see whether a first-ever two-time main event champion will be crowned.

Now, all the remaining players are guaranteed at least €29,270 each - with the chance of taking home the first place prize of an incredible €1,067,000! We will be back with a final table recap on Monday morning. Stay tuned!

TOP 5 chip counts:
1 Tom Middleton 3,986,000
2 Alejandro Perez 3,330,000
3 Anaras Alekberovas 2,638,000
4 Kimmo Kurko 2,382,000
5 Andreas Christoforou 2,258,000

Interesting stuff. This is the part i like most to see in a tournament, when everyone has money guaranteed and the only goal left is to run deep and the chance of reaching the FT.
Too soon to call a probable winner so i wouldn't be surprised if monday tell a totally different tale about the chip lead.. we'll have to wait and see...

It just goes to show how hard it is to win these events, there has never been a two time winner which is quite remarkable seeing as they have been going for so long. The odds of winning one is huge never mind two
