EPT Grand Final €25,000 High Roller: Benny Spindler Leads After Day 1

Day 1 of the 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo Casino EPT Grand Final High Roller attracted 158 players (37 more than last year) and 47 of them used their option to reenter the tournament, which brought the total to 205 entries so far (registration is open until the start of Day 2). However, no matter how many more players enter today, this High Roller is already the largest one to date on European ground. 

According to PokerStars Blog, 104 players survived the first day with Germany's Benny Spindler bagging up the largest stack (384,300). Spindler will be joined today by the likes of Viktor Blom (26k), Steve O'Dwyer (47k), Jason Mercier (47k), Daniel Negreanu (110k) and a whole bunch of other superstars in the poker world.

This is what i call a poker tournament!! To read the list of names still playing is like reading the poker hall of fame. i hope that Viktor Blom can win it but somehow i think he would rather be playing cash games behind the scenes than playing in a tournament

I remember this guy from a final table where he was on the better side of a cooler, he had quad jacks and his opponent had jacks full of aces (second nuts).

Cool list of names in this one. Big Kahunas up on this one, to be expected though.
I don't really care who wins. Daniels been on a solid solid run lately can't rule him out of at least an FT.
Blom's due a big tourney win but he's not got much to work with (but no idea what the blinds are).

Jenny, Lenny and Manny wants their swag back!

Viktor at this point I think goes around like some live marketing tool, he's not that sharp at live toureys like at the cash tables, but he's in every one of them and I think boring his a** off.
Sort off. But those sponsor deals must be so sweet - he doesn't complain.

As predicted many well known names registered but from what i saw from all poker reports all eyes are on Blom right now Smile

Who talked about financial crisis in Europe? 2014 just saw the record of the biggest field in Europe in a high roller event being beatten! It would be interesting to count the players by nationality...
