Event #39 $1,500 NLHE Shootout of the WSOP this year has been won by Preston Lee, who now relishes his very first gold bracelet and a sweet sum of $236,498 as his first place prize after more than 12 hours and 121 hands of heads-up play against Corey Dodd.

Lee said after he won, "I've been playing mostly online but just started to get back into live poker. I play mostly cash games in the San Francisco area and a few tournaments."

He had a very supportive rail who called him "The LandLord" during the entire event, and Lee was actually in a comfortable position most of the day.

Lee said his adrenaline was really running when asked about his exhausting final table experience, "Ya, it was long. Both of us were all in multiple times and we both just kept winning. I don't even know what time it is." Lee said he will participate in more events throughout the summer poker festival, with his main focus being on the Main Event.

The heads-up showdown lasted almost 4 hours with the chip lead going back and forth several times. Lee began the heads-up match with a big advantage but Dodd displayed utter resilience, but in the final hand Lee was able to knock off Dodd for good to win the title.

Wow, just wow - eight usa players ended up in the top10 - this could be a popular live format there cause very rare to see american dominance like this at WSOP tables nowadays, though they play more nitsch games as well.

I have never known a heads up battle for the title last so long. They played for 12 hours just to see who wins the bracelet which i find quite mind boggling. WEll done to Preston Lee for eventually coming out on top

A heads-up with good players it's possible.

------------
There were some final tables in this WSOP series with American players who dominated but it is normal. This series is in united states of america and many citizens of this country love this games a lot. More than that can be because they know poker. They can also have good results in Europe if wsop moves here. Anyway congratulations for the winners of final table.

A good prize for that buy in.
And once more th paid positions are dominated by the usa players.
They are absent so many years from the online poker and still they are crushing
in the tournaments.
The wsop location helps also Smile

Belated congratulations to Preston Lee! Preston became a quarter million dollars richer after winning the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout in June 2018! It is absolutely every poker player's dream come true.
