Here's a short introduction about this season's teams, some predictions and betting advice!
Burnley FC
Last season:
After selling strikers Jay Rodriguez and Charlie Austin within a period of 12 month time the expectations on Burnley in general and their goal-scoring ability in particular was low ahead of last year’s season. But Sam Vokes and Danny Ings proved everyone wrong and by scoring 20 goals each they were the keystones of the Championship runners-up last season. The team were strong home at Turf More as always but they were also starting to get wins away from home last year. Even if Vokes were out with an injury for the last two months of the season the team sealed a direct relegation spot with a couple of matches left of the season.
2014/15 season preview:
Burnley has got Chelsea and Man United to play in their first two home games this season. Dream or nightmare? They have strengthen their squad with the additions of the likes of Steven Reid, Michael Knightly and Matthew Taylor but even more important they have managed to keep the dynamic duo of Vokes and Ings who they are hoping will continue to produce goals in the Premier League as well.
Player profile:
After starting up his footballing career in Southampton Danny Ings moved to South Coast rivals Bournemouth in 2008 where he earned his debut as a 17 year old the following year. After a year and a half that was enough in order to convince Burnley to pay a million pound fee for the promising young striker. After two seasons with not too many goals last season was a major breakthrough when he and his striking partner Sam Vokes scored goals for fun. That earned Ings his first cap for Englands U-21s but also the award as Championship player of the season.
Summary:
Burnley are returning to the Premier League again four years after their last relegation from the top tier of English football. They have good depth in their squad but the defence feels a little uncertain and it is up to Ings and Vokes to keep on producing goals if manager Sean Dyche is going to have a chance to keep the team away from relegation straight back to the Football League again.
Prediction:
18th place
