Floyd Mayweather Interested in Owning an NBA Team, Wants to Quit Betting on Sports

Like him or hate him, Floyd Mayweather is without doubt a rich fella and notorious for spending lot of money on cars and sports betting. On a recent press conference for the Adrien Broner versus Ashley Theophane fight, Mayweather revealed his interest in becoming an NBA team owner.

The retired boxer understands that owning an NBA team means he has to give up on sports gambling. His keen desire in this endeavor make it sound like he is ready to really give up on betting. "You guys know I like to bet on sports," he said, "but I'm looking forward to stepping back from betting on sports now. I'm looking forward to probably getting into ownership of an NBA team."

While Floyd isn't as rich as some of the NBA team owners out there, he does have some money enough to buy him a small team, or perhaps a part of an NBA team.
This is not the first time the undefeated boxer showed his interest in owning an NBA team. Back in 2014, he briefly tried to convince some of his rich friends to help him buy the LA Clippers. He is also caught mentioning that he really did not have any particular team in mind.

obviously owning a sports team is a little bit more lucrative than betting on it. that's what floyd dude started thinking about when he noticed chunks of his hard earned dollaros disappearing after his sports betting activities. well he probably will have to cooperate with like 69 other floyds if he is to buy any team with current prices... better invest in the wonderful and thrilling north korean democratic round ball and long dudes league.

Considering how dumb this guy is, not betting on stuff for hundred thousands of dollars is probably a good idea. Let professionnals handle and invest your money instead of wasting it trying to get more like a dummy.

I don't think he even knows how to read yet. Maybe he could afford to pay himself a teacher instead of a bunch of hoes Blink lol

Or just ask Pochui for advice.

These teams being lucrative is a myth. The market they're on could be lucrative, the tv/broadcast deals could be lucrative but a team by itself hardly. If they would only could go with ticketsales and some merch money, no NBA player could have had eight figure salaries.
