Dustin Marks - the man who got away with millions by cheating at Blackjack

Dustin Marks was born in the 1950s and is known to be one of the most famous insider cheats in the United States. Marks worked at several well-known casinos in Las Vegas during the 70s and in the 80s. During this time he developed different cheating methods in Blackjack and different dealing techniques.

Together with some friends he traveled all over the US for about 10 years time and scammed casinos for millions of dollars - without ever getting caught. In fact, no one would probably ever have known about the cheating if it wasn't for a blackjack book where Dustin Marks writes about his adventures and the people that became aware of his cheating career.

In this book, one can for example read about how a partner would come to his table and place a $100 or a $25 bet. Dustin would signal his partner when he was about to give him/her a high value card, so his partner would know exactly when to make a big bet. This gave them an edge over the casino and it always paid off in the long run. Dustin was so good at false shuffling that different casino managers, who were standing next to him, never suspected anything.

So presumably it's too late for the casinos to take him to court to get their money back. This sounds pretty cool but this guy was a crook and is now getting more money for outing himself. You wouldn't catch most uncaught criminals bragging openly about their crimes.

Seems a bit weird to write a book about it now.. risky..

I have nothing against people cheating casinos tho.

His confession would have to be proved, wich I guess they cant do now, also chances are he now works for them (if he works at all) I love it when someone gets one over on the casinos, they rob you blind without care, dealers are tought how to cheat so they can spot outhers, wounder if they ever get commision!!

from one side this book could be good for reading (presons who like to read) and to see how 1 man could cheat in some much casinos and to cheat so much people and from other side maybe he could leave for himself and to spend this money!now every casino look at every man what he doing at black jack!

It's great idea for him with that book. People who are not smart will buy something like that without thinking about the time when he was doing that. Like someone said up now it's kinda harder to do it anyway.
That "work" must be fun and exciting for him. Some people are climbing mountain etc and he was cheating casino... which could get him to the graveyard in that times.

where is money there is cheating

when this happens with dealers at blackjack, it happens for sure even more at poker - at least the shuffle maschines will help a little bit of this kind of cheating

Does anyone actually care when people rip off casinos? I think not.

Ripping casinos shouldn't be charged by laws
