Las Vegas Casinos Set New Monthly Record in Gambling Revenue

July proved to be the golden month for Las Vegas.

According to a report published by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, an astounding $794 million in gambling revenue was collected from casinos on The Strip last month - the biggest all-time win total for the state so far this year. July showed a relevant 46% increase compared to the pre-pandemic revenue in July 2019.

As for the entire lineup of casinos statewide, the gaming revenue reached $1.36 billion for the month, thereby making July the fifth consecutive billion-dollar month, and a 33% increase in contrast to July 2019.

A note from Macquarie Research published on Thursday described the outlook for Las Vegas as "upbeat" and the expectation would be that Sin City will get back on its feet to pre-pandemic levels around mid-2022.

The number of Las Vegas visitors in July was up 130% compared to July 2020.

Thanks to a calendar rarity, July 2021 had five weekends, which helped kick up the numbers. A lot of events drew visitors to Las Vegas, including UFC's matchup between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor, and the return of the Cirque Du Soleil show "O" to the Bellagio. July was also the first full month that the brand new Resorts World Las Vegas casino was open.

Senior research analyst for the Nevada Gaming Control Board Michael Lawton said, "It was a perfect storm." However, he says August may not be on pace with July as other factors such as schools opening again for the year and the rising number of Delta variant cases could result in decreased revenue numbers, "July was a very strong month, across the entire country for a lot of different industries. But it lasted too short - it felt like we were out [of the pandemic] and then delta came."

The restrictions because of Covid 19 mattered too much, and now people have taken revenge for their lost time and played more than in other years. This is very good and people are not afraid of a financial crisis. This is wonderful.

Little by little everything is returning to normal, I think it is a big step that is being made with these results that are encouraging for any casino, since at the beginning it was thought that this was going to end, to continue with great strength and faith.

little by little the economy of some countries is being solved, it is not easy to return to the previous results, but these casinos will already be billing very good, since little by little they are being vaccinated to immunize the population, so in this way the casinos are having the expected results.

But we will see how this will affect in next months on economy!

Good news for businesses there. I am very happy to read that the Cirque du Soleil is back; I was not aware of his return.
But do not get used to the months continuing to improve, because there may be many factors that complicate things, such as the new variant of coronavirus.

big difference then it was before few months ago is that in america they allow people to come everywhere without restrictions, like on football games,so they allow also people to come in casino and to spend money!when you know that is summer, that people want to enjoy, you can imagine how much money they will spend in las vegas!

''It was a perfect storm ......then Delta came .... '' And it was such a nice article to read ,up to that point , an optimistic article for gambling in Las Vegas and Nevada , then the '' Delta variant cases '' , I think hmmmm ,that point should have been out of the article Aww crap!
 ligador3702/09/2021 04:08:01 GMT
Why you said so? I think it's okay for them to mention that. Failure to do so would risk the appearance of a new wave of infected with the new variant.
The US in terms of the pandemic is quite impressive. They are only now about to enable access to the Public at sporting events, and they have done it there for a long time. Although casinos are open, they are not as is the case in that country. Pretty advanced

well they will talk about it in next months for sure, about new variant or things like this!we live with this for year and half,so now its normal that they talk about it!

Yes , I was referring to the end of the article , when suddenly from a optimistic article for Nevada casinos' revenues , it took a 180* turn to virus depression and ''delta '' pessimistic forecasts .

I hear about some counties uplifting COVID measures (Denmark) , in other things are far better .
God bless them , hopefully this measures' uplifting will not be discontinued due to beta , gamma , delta , epsilon (lol) or whatever other virus variant , so as for businesses like casinos and the small normal ones to get back to their feet , one and a half year later many people struggle to survive , find a job , etc .

Maybe one day after this crisis a survey will show the real implications of this irus crisis to people's lives and financial status , how many got poorer , how many lost their mind , how many survived this systemic shock ;; and how many not , maybe add them to the total vicctims of this virus crisis ...
The sooner we forget about this crisis the better . We have vacine .
Governments , if it was so urgent they could make vaccination (and other measures earlier ))mandatory and we would end with virus in one month . They do not take it 100% seriously from the beginning of this crisis , that is what troubles me from Day-1 , makes me suspicious .

This ''crisis'' made me do some study , about crises in human history ,like WW1 , WW2 , other wars or financial crises or virus pandemics during 20th century and earlier . They follow a time and a general pattern .........

Anyway , delta , epsilon , let's get over with it and move on . With this virus crisis , I really appreciated the ''normal'' systemic crisis (financial depression-recession) , I really have no problem with these nowadays , ready for the next endurance test , bring it on b**** !!! Big Smile

now the world is back to normal and it's fine. I hope he will not return to restrictions again

That they use the pandemic to generate some panic in people is not surprising at all. I don't know how it is in your country. In mine, the government's intention is to end once and for all and everyone is urged to get vaccinated. unfortunately there are people who do not want to do it, and cannot be forced to do so. many of them simply refuse because they are not supporters of that political party.
it's all politics sadly.
 CALICUL03/09/2021 10:54:34 GMT
this is the situation because humanity is too scared to fight, but i hope for normal things to return and people to enjoy with casinos
 ceffet03/09/2021 13:15:05 GMT
Hát már ideje hogy vége

 geseco1203/09/2021 20:13:00 GMT
these numbers of profits of the casinos make that this is getting back to normal, it is not easy to sustain a business of this caliber in this state of emergency, but they are really encouraging numbers for everyone.

If they earn lot of money, that mean that people lose a lot!
