Then again, how long would it for people to catch on and make every poll have 10 It wouldn't shock me in the least bit if it started to happen

I agree that there is a problem with "stupid threads" that seems to have got worse recently but the idea of a stupid section is completely well... stupid. No one is going to post their thread in the stupid section and no one would read them. If your suggesting that threads should be moved there from other forums, who decides what's stupid and why not just delete them if they're that bad.
To those who say that's what the off-topic is for, I don't think it's just off-topic threads that can be stupid. I like many of the off topic threads and I think it's great that BRM isn't exclusively poker, it makes the forum more fun. The person who said that BRM should concentrate on poker cos it's more important is missing the point that BRM is also about casinos, betting, bingo and gambling in general and is more fun imo than other boring poker forums. There are many poker related threads that are equally annoying as the worst off topics such as the ones that were asking questions that were too general to answer or only had one right obvious answer.
My suggestion is that we give BRM members a chance to close threads. Here me out. Admin cannot be around all the time and cannot always close threads simply because they are stupid incase he does not share public opinion. So I suggest admin adds a close button to each thread. When enough people click on it, the thread is closed so no idiots can bring it back up. The people who want the thread closed appear at the bottom so they can show their view without posting and sending said stupid thread back to the top.
I'm suggesting this to be used for threads like the 'ginger day walker' one and the favourite suit one. With threads like that there is an immediate dislike but all it takes is some idiot to post a week after the thread has gone 'I like clubs' and the post is back in our eyeline and more idiots jump on it. Clearly these people are a minority who fail to understand they don't get any points for posting four words in an otherwise dead thread.
edit: this button could also be used when a question has been answered to prevent more people from unnecessarily answering it again.
Like I mentioned in my post earlier to admin. When you come to BRM and are operating from the front page like most people do. You click "FORUM" and all the threads are mixed together and you see a lot of stupid threads mixed together. Yes, the off-topic (stupid threads) are mixed with the poker threads, which doesn't look....well, you know where I am going. To get around that you have to click "FORUM" then go below that and click "FORUMS" in order to get to them into categories. The first topic in "forums" section is "off topic" which should probably be moved a little lower, like the bottom. Does anyone see the same as me?

awood88 - really great ideas there!! That "close thread"-button could be an option, just need to figure out how many "votes to close" is necessary before it actually closes and what the requirements are to use it, like we don't want a bunch of 0-posters to click it just for the fun of it. But if require 100+ forum posts to be order to vote for closing of a thread, could be an option?
ih8usuckouts - it's supposed to be like that. The "forums"-overview doesn't display what's going on but is a port to the subforums (or you can just use the drop-down box in the upper right corner), where as the "mixed together"-page, when clicking on "Forum" shows everthing that's updated recently.

I also think that a close thread button would be a really good idea, providing that, as admin says, only regular posters could use it..

s**t didint think my post would make that kind of noise ......guys it was sarcastic just post that cuz i was discust by the s**ty treads that was going on these past days what more meant to be a message to point chasing poster common lets just be a bit more serious about this site and everything will be ........ALL GOOD ......yeah baby just voted no to my on suggestion that I think is funny much more than Knowing who likes bingo or would ratter paly poker then have sex we really dont care a least I dont Im here for the LOVE OF POKER.....arent you

Yes and agree. It gets quite frustrating going to a poker forum you like and all I see is junk. Yes it's nice to have off topic stuff for fun, but it would be nice to discuss poker because that is what I am here for too. I see more unimportant stuff like you mentioned than important poker stuff. After chatting here in the forum with admin, I fully understand how the site is set up and the most current updated info is put up first. But then the stuff that is most recent and current is what it is......Ginger Daywalkers, poker or sex, people copy and pasting one useless poll and changing the KK to AA, and so on.....

I was thinking about creating a new thread for this idea and making a poll to get some opinions on how it should be done but I haven't done so because I figured admin might want to do it. I'm not really sure how it would work exactly and I thought admin would have a better idea of what's realistic. But I think I'll make a thread about it if admin doesn't in the next few hours.
