so i have just been playing the $7000GP rebuy at poker 700, entry 25+2.50. (it was token that i won) Top 20 get paid....first is like 2k and 10-20 is 95. 2-10 are quite nice.
167 runners....i finished 43, after having seen 3 flops the ENTIRE game. I actually had 4 hands the entire time, and my best was AK. I finally lost with A,10 haing 1600 chips where blinds were 200/400 ante 50.
I cannot understand how i could have such s**t cards for so long...it was actually ridiculous. i had no opportunity at all to play poker....it was just crazy.
i feel like im on tilt even though i didnt play badly i just had such terrible cards.

I feel your pain, sir. I am really tight in tournaments, so this happens to me every now and then. But not because I'm totally carddead, but because I'm too tight. But I have reason:
Latest two tournaments I played.
1. I'm in 8th place, out of maybe 300 left. There's only one stack that covers me on my table. I pick up AA. Minraise in late pos, since I want some sort of action, without letting the big blind in for free. The big stacks goes all in. I call. He has got A9o.
I'm like:
until the river, where he has got a straight with that soddin 9!!!
Next tournament, Poker 770, the 7700 $ tournament. I've played like 2 och 3 hands, am up a little.
Pick up AA and get one dude all in with AQs. Spades. Flop comes with one spade, no Q. I got 94 % chance to win this. If I do, I can easily fold my way to 108 $, if I should like to.
Spade.
Spade.
F**k...
I had 15 chips left, and won of course the next meaningless hand agasint that bastard.

Posted by shokaku: A bad run over 100 hands is not that unusual. Find a good spot to raise or even push with junk, and don't get blinded down to 4BB.
Yes, this is probably the right way to play, and this is the way it is usually done. But I'm not there yet. Need a little more experience. I make it to the top 10 % almost always, when I don't get drawn out on like ridiculus, And quite often to the final table. But I always get there with a short stack, because I'm too tight.

Hello everybody! It happens very clear souvent.Je have no luck in general in tournaments with a big buy-in which is indeed very frustrating. See you soon for new posts lol!

if ur that card dead u have to try make some moves, dont get carried away but with all the folding ur image will be good for some steals. its often done me proud untill u can pick up some hands. It even worse when u cant even get away with a steal. GL anyway sure u will turn it around

maybe sitting tight was the wrong stratergy...? Still you just cant let your stack be blinded away like that, stand up for your self and steal some blinds as well. Blind stealing can see you through a tourny like this especially if your not getting many hands, if you are stealing some blinds that can keep you topped up. I dont know the exact cards you had but sitting there doing nothing wont help will it. I dont mean to sound like a twat but thats what i'd do... Some times you just have to force the game. You cant have great cards all the time.
