It is the Cereus network. They do encrypt the data, but in a different way to other rooms, and it looks like their encryption has been cracked. But i can't understand people that still play there, after all the s**t that had happend in the past.

It is odd that the network survived that as well as it did. Although, I don't see that it would be any current concern really.
Most forms of encryption can be cracked.. sometimes it's as simple as inserting your own "secure certificate" into the data stream. Anyway, even if what the OP said was true, the attacker would still need to get into your LAN and I don't know about you guys, but my home network IS encrypted. As far as I can tell, it's a pretty paranoid thing to be concerned about. And about the only way someone could use hole card info against you (assuming they could compile the raw data into meaningful information before they had to fold their hand) would be if they were up against you HU, constantly.. and if someone kept slamming you HU, surely you'd stop playing them anyway.

I guess it's possible, but involves some work. The home network can be hacked as well, with just about any encryption. But I think someone would REALLY need to be looking for you. And like jess says, where can it be used profitably?

sound a bit dodgy to me... Not so good getting your hole cards seen...especially if you keep playing crap like me...hahahaha I dont play there any way but if i did i would defo think twice before staying there for sure. @Almonds... now i think it would be the other way around if you did it at the higher limits you would stand more chance of getting found out (if the bigger stakes players are more observant?) Still i wouldnt like to take the chance @Dozn01 yep people will cheat rather than take the time and effort to learn a skill and win....SLACKERS Ultimatbet is the 1 that was caught cheating antway wasnt they...?
I would say that the chance of anyone of us BRM members being cheated was incredibly low. But when a company has a relaxed attitude towards security you wonder what else they may do with your sensitive info such as credit card info.

Posted by dozn01: if theres a way to cheat people will do it, am glad i dont play there
Is anyone actually paying attention to what OP said?
He's talking about someone being within so 20m of your house, hacking into your LAN, sniffing all the data packets going between your computer and the router, decoding them, finding amongst all that data, the specific packets which pertain to hole card information. Presenting this in a meaningful way and using it to beat you in a game. Which also means, they'd need to have ANOTHER internet connection, within 20m of your house, so they could also be connected to the poker room, with a different IP address to you.

Common do u belive anything anyone write??? it may happend to pstars too, anyway i dont know why dont u send this issue to the support team of the cereus network, they must take this issue very serious. I play there sometimes, i dont think stars or ftp might be so much safer.

/// this is not a seroius post.l
This is a serious post. I was simply condensing a lot of what i had read on another site because BRM doesnt like you linking to other poker sites. If you dont believe me google the issue. This is not the same system that Full Tilt and Stars use. Or the majority of other online banks and other online sensitive data.
Im not trying to say this will happen to you. Chances of it are low. But such big security holes are always worth your concern because they will often come with other issues. It was Absolute Poker which had the superuser debacle.

I wouldn't be that sure.
It woul be ridiculous if someone is stealing at the microlimits
But u are right i can not be sure, as i can not be sure that ipoker is safe, or neither party poker, honestly i only trust in the pstars and ftp security, but i can play anywhere while i play at the microlimits.
But also i dont use the creditcard anywhere either
