98% of the time you call...because a lot of players will push any 2 in that spot.... you can fold only if you now that player and he is like bigest tight...nit.....

no, wouldnt call with 55,too many hands beating you. In fairness I knew it was a coin flip and only 2 hands I dont want to see are AA and KK in this spot.
why are you so adament to make people see your point of view anyway, your not going to change peoples mind on it. the vote is in and AK is too big of a hand to fold in that spot in most peoples view.
end of????????

I LOVE this tread my friend!!! I dont want to change mind of people who would call... Maybe I would call to... I just cant understand dommdy and midnight when they say that is unbelivable that anyone think that this is fold...Thing is that this call can be good and fold also can be good, that depends of your style of play and your strategy how to win tourney (wait for hand where you think that your hand is better or risk with coinflips in order to get chip lead on final table...)
Thats all from me in this tread Tongue

yeah, there is defo a case for fold and call, as im writing this I just lost with AK to 22 after hitting K on flop, spiked a 2 on the river , grrrrrrr.....starting to dislike AK.
love the tread too but dont think i can get anymore good advice foom it, good luck at tables buddy

To win you have to risk there's no doubt the idea is to reduce the maximum potential loss, I think that call is the best option, there is little cards above this range and still there are many chances to win

Depends on how the opponent was playing (tight or loose), I would probably have folded, because the money was nearby......

I would have called as well m8, wouldn't want to be kicking myself if i missed and opportunity like that and he turned over A J or Q....i also believe that a lest 1 in 10 would call with the ak even knowing they was up against QQ

Hi,
I was playing a tourney on full tilt last night and went deep, 19players left,16 paid,$10 buy in.
Sat in BB with AK off and all fold to SB who pushes all in for a little over 20 BB , he/she had a little less chips than me.
I delayed as much as I could and put him on middle pair[may aswell of had 22 v AK] and decided to call.
player turns over QQ for a coin flip v AK. i found it a strange move considering we were both reasonably comfortable in chip sizes but decided to take my chances andtry give myself a big stack heading towars final table as there were a lot of small stacks. needless to sayQQ held up and i left in 17th position on bubble.
should I of called?

I like the call i think you made the right play. A coin flip is all you can want really isnt it? Hey next time it hits and you got a nice stack ....good play though just my opinion.

its a easy call the guy could be shoving with any ace k q or whatever to pick up the blinds. Ak should never be folded blind on blind all in. Its unlucky the person picked up qq but still you should cal because the real money is in the final 5 not a min cash

Bubble or no bubble , you are only dominated by, AA, KK .. if you play to cash fold , personally i call in that spot 100% of the time regardless of where in the tourney u are ... Play to win !!!

I'm playing AK as I type! Think I'll go for it. Not very experienced, but then again it's a freeroll. Dumb comment ay!

Being close to the bubble shouldn't influence your decision. Seriously, it's the difference between no cash - or getting your buyin back - who gives a F.

Why do you think commentary on top MTT players always includes lines like "fearless bubble play" - not "Acted like a complete p***y at the bubble then went on to become CL by continuing to fold through to the FT" err....
