Great thread guys! My spare laptop didn't have antivirus as it was just used occasionally, but then my wife accidentally downloaded a virus, and since I wasn't able to remove it and there weren't many things on that computer, I reloaded the operating system. Am scanning it with Avast right now.

I recently acquired a new laptop and so far i only had the free version AVG on my deskyop pc and i never had problems. On my laptotp i decided to download the avast antivirus ans so far i'm more than happy. In addition to the avg antivirus the avast seems to work a lot faster than the avg free antivirus, both as scan time and both as update time. From what i can tell so far in terms of antivirus performance both software programs are top notch and pretty equal. Given the fact that the avast it's a lot faster than avg i also consider to install avast on my desktop pc too. As stated above the Windows 7 it's a lot more safer than windows xp and vista were. If updated periodically it can give a pretty high security to your pc.
