High Stakes: Isildur1 up almost $400,000 - in only two days!

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom had a tough time at the poker tables last week. This week, however, has been extremely good and he has already eliminated the losses from last week. During the 2 last days Blom has played about 2000 hands of PLO at the limits $25/$50 and $50/$100 at PokerStars. In total, he has won $383,000 against players like Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky, Rui "PepperoniF" Cao and Ilari Sahamies, [...]   Read more » High Stakes: Isildur1 up almost $400,000 - in only two days!

good comeback after a bad week, would be good if he can maintain this for few sessions.
i think they need to play at bigger tables with so much raising - re raising going on preflop.

Blom VS Ilari Sahamies:
''Isildur1 had the small blind and raised to $300. Ilari FIN raised to 800, and Isildur1 re-raised $2400 and Ilari FIN re-raised to $5400. Isildur1 called and the flop came out 39J. Ilari FIN raised $16,199 and Isildur1 called. The 7 landed on the turn and Ilari quickly moved all in. Isildur1 called.

Isildur1 showed k1035 for a pair of 3s and a inside straight draw. Ilari FIN showed QJ6A for a pair of Jacks and flush draw.

The river card is the 3, a terrible card for Ilari FIN, and Isildur1 picked up the pot of stunning $82,596''

Am i missing the point of omaha?
Looks like terrible play but i guess i dont see the point???

Doomdy --> I think at first they were both bluffing but in the end they got pot comitted so they both went all-in. These guys are just crazy, to them a 3bet means weakness haha Big Smile

Rogan11000 --> Yeah of course going all in with a pair of 3s and an inside straight draw can make you lose big pots Big Smile

I hope the less donkey player will win in the end Blink (being pro doesn't mean you can't be a donk, by the way!)

Quoting TheMachineQC: "being pro doesn't mean you can't be a donk, by the way!"

Pros aren't donks, but very rich people who decide to play poker as entertainment, even if the game isn't their best skill, but not having problems in loosing hundreads of thousands of dollars in one day (or several days) and playing high stakes just to guarantee they won't get any pros which play lower stakes, those can be donks!
I don't want to ofend Blom, or criticize him, but if we look at a graphic of his wins and losses along his carreer, its just like any other graph of an amateur player that plays micro levels. If i, for instance, started my game 10 years ago with $10, have already invested $500 in the game, and my balance is $0, that doesn't make me a looser, or does it? Or if i am now with a profit of $1,500, i am the same amateur player. If Blom invested $5 million and register a profit of $10 million, in percentage i have won a lot more than him.
I am one of those that defend that poker players ranking should be based on the percentage of wins versus losses. This way, one can see that X player is the best of all time because he has a ranking of 85%. On the other side, the famous high stakes player Y is not that good, because his ranking his of 47%. This is how things should be done so one can look better through each player.

If i won a $10 million freeroll does that makes me one of the best players of all time? It can't be, because it was only one victory (in detail the percentage of win/loss can have a variety according to the field, but never according to the amount of money, that will just distort reality)!
