If we were to assume they were skilled, then sitting waiting for big pre flop hands will make it very hard to get paid on them. You need to open pots / call multi-way pots in position with a much wider range than just premium hands when you're playing deep stack
poker.
If we are looking to play 20-50BB
poker then I'd advocate late registration to avoid any hard decisions in the first few hours. (I believe the $200 $50k is 180min late reg)
BTW Jess, I'm not saying either of us is correct, its a matter of opinion and everyone feels comfortable playing different strategies. Yours works for you and mine works for me
