Boku87.... I know all about this guy Smile

It was actually $100 to $10,000 in 14 days, but still very impressive. He only played SNGs, and nothing over $16 buy in. Truly amazing achievement.

I would love to be able to do something like this one day..... but VERY doubtful Big Smile

Really???.......Do you have a wife?......Hope not!

Seriously,if you look at the staking threads from some people they really believe they have the skills and commitment to start making a living but offer no evidence to back it up.
Players who write on the forums such as yourself are the ones who stand out to me because they are always wanting to progress and when they realise their limitations they will go just that little bit further and try and exceed the limits.
Blink If you go broke in the new year come to me first Smile

Lower hourly rate playing tha, but if you think you can handle it better then surely the better option

If you play at a winrate of 10 bb/100, you'd get $1 per 100 hands. So $10 per hour if you play 1000 hands per hour.
Not really something to give up your day job for, I think.

What hourly rates are you aiming at?

10bb/100? That's really optimistic, it's only possible at NL2. For NL10 5-6bb/100 would already be really good.
I have $9/hr but thats while running largely below EV (EV shows $13.xx) and while being down over the ~100 $15s I played. If one plays 20 tables continous for a few hours at $7 non turbos I'm sure close to $20/hr is possible for some.

Played around 4,000 hands of NL5 Zoom today... About $11 up, so that's..... 5.5 BB/100 hands and around 3 hours play, so $3.66 per hour...

I recorded a video of around 500 hands in the middle of the session which I'll upload as soon as it's ready.

Maybe set yourself another challenge - to not look at any stat/BR related things over 50 hours (or more, the more the better) of play. I know no one listens to me (or at least thats what I feel) when I always say "longterm bla bla" etc., but it really is the truth, 10 hours or less of play don't give any indication even if a super big load of hands/sngs played. I had to find that out the hard way too.

hey dudes can you explain me what the fcuk is happening to online poker, i am so sure that it is all rigged and even rerigged to the total bullsh1t levels. i played 5 hands and i lost all of them, even when i had 22 or 36 off. i am bleeding cash and people keep saying crap about bankroll management and such...

so what you're saying is that my sample size of 5 hands is a little bit too short? naaah you're talking nonsense here... i'm sure it's just rigged

Yep pochui, clearly rigged if you're losing with 63 AND 22.... That's just crazy.

And BeMy... I do listen to you - I too rate your advice very highly. Just because I don't always exactly agree, doesn't mean I'm not taking it on board and learning from it. BRM is lucky to have you here Thumbs Up

YOUT85..... Loving the thread and all the very sound advice ,that is coming along as a result, and I , of course, wish you very well in your determination to make this achievement.

However, I was kind of wondering, just why is this your aim? Maybe you would share this with us and then the advice may take on a little bit more of a contextual perspective. It would also just be really interesting to know the thoughts behind your aim.

The main reason behind it is to set myself up, so that in a couple of years from now I'll be able to play for a living. Being Supernova for 2016 would be a great help to make a living wage from poker, as the 3.5x VPP rate can be the difference between a loss and a nice profit.

Another reason, is just so I can say I have done it. With everything I do, I want to do it as well as possible. I know I'm capable of achieving this goal, so I would be letting myself down if I didn't go for it.

Tbh if you want to play for a living supernova won't get you that far, especially "loss to a nice profit" , considering the overall profit you will need to make, supernova will be a minorty of your profit unless you go for 500K VPPs or something. Then again, if you get far enough to play stakes where 500K VPPs is possible you should beat the games well enough that supernova is still a minorty of profits. I myself decided I won't make it priority and also probably will own roll again at the start of the year. I calculated - with the desired results in the games I want to play, supernova would only make 20% of my total yearly profit. You have to consider that reaching supernova itself is worth only about 6.5K for the following year (in that case 2016), so basicly the increase from platin to supernova is worth only 1.8K (100000 FPPs less and the $200 stellar). Also dont forget that when you reach supernova you wont be able to take long times off since you have to make 6.5K VPPs/month to maintain it.

bemy has some points i believe. If you want to play poker for living maybe you should
check the rewards and returns you can get from all the sites you can play.
Perhaps in an other site you can find a better deal. Just my thought.

Ingesting and admirable approach YOUT , however I would advise, if you haven't alrady, to make some serious calculations along the lines of the advice given by BEMYATM before determining whether simply achieving supernova will bring everything that you need it to. Either way, good luck with your venture.

Yeah, BeMy is definitely right in what he is saying... I know just being Supernova won't mean anything... It's how I use it. It will make me play the amount that I need to to get good profits... It will motivate me to keep going - something to aim for.

Been doing some more thinking (my brain hurts, lol) and research, just saw some player multi tableing 6 player SnG Hyper turbo's, they were getting through about 60 games in 100 minutes at $300, $500 and a few $1000, total rake $660 or so = 3630 vpp 2nd is a little more than double money, 1st is balance, I may do a little experiment....

I wouldnt recommend doing your "experiment" at these games. You'll get murdered at these stakes playing against 5 top SNG regs at most games.
