Joe Hachem won 7.5mil when he won the main event. The winner of this years will earn 9.1mil.
The prize money is always proportionate to the amount of buy ins. This years is the second biggest ever, with the biggest being Jamie Golds 2006 win of 12mil - although he had to give half of it away to the guy who bankrolled him for the tourny.

Well Peter Eastgate has been running hot at the last stages but don't forget how Russia 4bet AI 99 IP and got called by Rheems TT (dominated) and sucked out my favourite player. If he had not sucked out he would have been out, he had 80% chance of going home with the over aggressive 99's. All players get lucky and all players get unlucky so it's hard to find the justified winner. Poker is not about justice but about skill and luck which both players have imo.
Peter Eastgate for history, he has a big chance to break Hellmuth record of the youngest ... to win the ... Event & that is insane for a young player in life taking more then $9 ... home
