BRM Affiliates: Mob Points update

As of February 2nd we will change the payout for signups from certain countries. All countries that currently pay out 1000 MobPoints for level #1 players will be reduced with up to 50%, including approvelevel 2, 3 and 4.We have been analysing data for quite some time now and due to various factors such as changes in global economy with less depositors as a result, increasing fraud accounts/request[...]   Read more » BRM Affiliates: Mob Points update

yes most of mine come from forums as well, but stating that ID is required will cost you signups, allthough you will get better quality signups, im pretty sure i know which forum you get most of your signups through, its very competitive so i like to, well, stretch the truth a tad, i like to leave an impression to people after reading my advertisment that magical things will happen if they signup through my link, i dont lie, i just stretch the truth, for instance i dont tell people that theres no USA no deposit bonuses avaiilable, i may even add words like "instant", things like that, and im far from being the only mobster who does that, if i work semi hard i could get 4 or 5 signups from the one forum per week, i also use words such as "AMAZING" "INCREDIBLE" "NEWNEW" "UNBELIEVABLE" in my headlines so they stand out, its dog eat dog, lol

stretch the truth huh Smile

amazing, incredible and so on always scare me away to be honest Big Smile
i only advertise in german forums and i seem to be the only one from BRM there with 1 or 2 exceptions in another big poker forum.
i will expand soon (only UK forums tho) so be aware Cool

regarding ID required: i would reconsider that. firstly 2 sign up by ID has the same value as 20 sign up by phone ( ok now comes the math again lol...i assume you only get 100 points for phone and 1000 for ID? or do you get 200 for phone? dont know right now)
2nd i think many people would leave after reading on BRM that they need to send in their ID (without to know that its not necessary), so better tell em in advance...and here it comes: you as advertiser have the chance to explain why and that BRM is not going to give out their address etc.
if you just type in "ID needed" then i understand your point, but if you explain why then every clear brain will say "ok i get $100 dollar for free, thats why BRM wants to be on the safe side and not pay out 1 person 5x times just because hes got several phonenumbers and know how to change his PC data"
i dont know if im succesfull with that as u know i also dont have many sign up Smile ...just my opinion.

but we could to a test: i check out a new forum and do your advertise style and you do mine ? - with a new tracker. not much effort and worth to see whats better.

ill pass on the forum chalenge, im not as motivted as i used to be lol, you make some very good points though, im only a small referer compared to some and i dont spend much time at all on it anymore (the safe and the draw have zapped my energy) i also have a lot of rejected and unverified signups, this is my main tracker, the other one i have has 4 signups, as you can see i havnt done to well lately, as i said ive just lost interest for the time being. i have earned about 7500 points to date (mostly from signups) and who knows if 2 or 3 of these signups below went on to be profitable players i may have earnt more just from those 2 or 3 if we got a piece of the rake, or i may have got nothing, but i wouldnt mind getting nothing from unprofitable signups as long as we got something from the profitable ones, it would be more fun as well, which for me is the main thing.

intentcity4, some times I get 2-3 signups a day, sometimes none.

kraemer, if you refer one good player on another site, you get $100. That makes up for the other 9 that may not want to put their ID in. If you refer that same player to BRM, you may only get 50 cents or nothing or $5 if you're lucky, plus $1 for approved bankroll.

Now, the real problem with BRM system is that they are paying money to people that they are not getting money back and some other people are getting less money than they deserve.

So I hope BRM gets a better system soon.

I see, I use to post in forums but I have stopped. Right now, I only work on developing my site. Once I am happy on how it looks and get my own domain name than I will start promoting it.

Question?
Do you people make as much from signups as you do on playin poker?
as being an affiliale goes is it profitable?
what about if you compare it to say 2hours poker a day?

i know this isnt exactly what you asked but i just thought id give you my thoughts to new affiliates, if you want to be a succesfull affiliate it takes a lot of time, it can take a bit of money to get set up as well, allthough you dont really need money, money will just get you there faster, the number one rule if you want to be succesfull is that you have to enjoy doing it, and it can be quite fun if your into it, but if your not into it, dont bother, because as i said it will take up a lot of your time, at least inially, but if you get a web site up and running with a good page rank, then it"ll hardly take up any time, hence leaving you to play poker, but most affiliates get addicted to what ever success they have and constantly upgrade their site to try and out do themselves, its allmost an obsession to some. i just like to think of it as a hobby, also dont think about making money, if your good at it the money will come. i hope this kind of makes sense. lol Blink also checkout bigfoots thread on affiliates, lots of good info here Cool http://www.bankrollmob.com/forum.asp?mode=thread&id...

xxxbchxxx, that's a good question. The thing I like about a website and affiliating is that you make money when you're asleep, when you're on a date with g/f, etc. Right now, I haven't played poker for a few weeks; I enjoy working on my website more. I haven't spent 1 cent on affiliating but I am looking for a domain and I think a domain is very important if you want your site to become big.

I already asked myself when you will update the payment table, but I do not think that this will change so much, besides that we will earn much less. Why do we not get paid for valueable players? I think a verified poker player isn't worth 5$ (maybe 1$ or so), but if you earn 200$ out of one of them it would be very fair to pay their affiliates at least 25% of it (like the most pokerroms do).

Hopefully you can spend the saved money for sponsoring more players.

tobik999, exactly what I was thinking. BRM said new changes are coming soon so hopefully they get a better system going here.

"@ GeneYuss: I thought all the time since I am here you would refer more than me, buit you are also just fish"

I didn't get that first part, are you saying I referred you to BRM?

good luck on your site geneyuss, i currently have a site online which i am not to happy with, i havent really advertised yet to but still get traffic.

but i have a new design underway my own design made in photoshop, i made one lastweek too and i was very happy about it, but... i had the resilution to high and was told that could slow the traffic down. so now im gunna think about the customers and get my site to work good in as many browsers as i can and lower resilution for traffic with lower spec computers.

hope thats helps for anything.

and as for the new affiliate plan i think is a very bad idea, i can see were your comming from with fraud etc... but still.

Hi allaboutpoker, why aren't you happy with your site? Not happy with the design? I just changed my layout a couple days ago. My old layout did not look professional and took too long to load. All I did was search google for free template and than edited the template to the way I like.

Where did you get your domain and hosting? And do you have a stat counter? www.statcounter.com/ good tool for tracking how people find your site.

For photoshop, you might want to try to save the image as a .png . png is high quality and a lot smaller size than gif or jpeg.

Goodluck allaboutpoker, let me know how it goes.

@GeneYuss: I thought you would refer more users to BM than me. But it looks like we have the same number of referrals. What is your domain?

I do also use png graphics but you have to know that these are not fully supported by IE6. For statistics I do use Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools. To get more visitors you need to have unique and actual content. If you use a free template be sure that there are no death links in it!

is it really the best way for promoting/advertising? i am not sure I wanna bother developing a site, anyone tried advertising on traffic sites?

tobik999, I can't post my website but if you search for geneyuss than it should pop up. I just bought a domain, James Bond theme, should be cool when its finished. How many hits do you get on your website a month?

For pgn in IE6, is transparency the only issue and will the picture still show up? I just checked, 8% of my visitors use IE6. I heard Google Analytics is pretty good, is there a free version?

And what do you mean by death links?

supermama, you can still make money without a site like email, posting in forums etc. You can see where everyone else advertises if you search google for bankrollmob.
