actually for many years with friends. there has been always someone having cards in his bag if not a football when going to the lake. we still meet monthly for a 5card draw challenge...with marked cards of course

not really, we had our own rules back the days lol. i think if im honest then i started to play serious poker online, so i vote for started online.

This Is why i think online poker is a farce. Born and raised in Canada by a gamblin poker playin father i was playing 10 player sittin go tournaments every second saturday when i was 15 before texas was even put on tv. (winning more than i lost) I then moved to Casino play playin mostly limit but sometimes no limit and apart from the odd bad beet was fairly succesful. Ive spent weekends in vegas with wins of over 3000 dollars in three days. And in 6 years playin on the net Ive never cashed out once , Bad beat after bad beat i get screwed over and over. So internet poker in all respect can kiss my ass ill take anyone on live .

I was one of the first, amongst my friends, that started playing poker. I started online and talked about it with them, and then they started exploiting this "new world". After a group of five have learned and got the thrill of playing, we decided to buy some chips together, so we can try it live, and it went very well. Nowadays there are about 200 amateur friends/players in my area and like we already have diferent gaming levels between us, the better ones dont like to play for real with the rookies. But everyone discuss it in a very wealthy way!

Started online with freerolls 3-4 years ago on PokerChamps wich had freerolls every 30 minutes, i built a BR for about $100 since then i have been playing nonstop

we play with friends two years before we started playing online, but occassionaly. On the beginning we use matches as 1 cent coins and we play 5 cards poker, after one year we started play texas and we buy real chips

i started to play poker about 25 years ago but at that time i played 5-card draw only and around 15 years ago i started to play hold'em and now i am playing about 6-7 yaers online poker

i´m started online but in the last 2 years i play more and more live games in casino´s to make money and online is more an hobby or training for me yet I play 9 year´s and in the last 2 year´s i had more win live as in the years i play online. Live poker is the nuts

15 years ago I started to play in a weekly housegame (and still play there), after 2 years I played cash and 50 pl.- 50 / rebuy tournys. I won 1 and spend that money on a 2 week pokertrip to Vegas . Always kept record of my winnings and won nicely most years. Online I play since 5 yrs; invested 400 Eu in the first 3 yrs, 100 Eu in the last 2, balance 160 Eu atm.
Online is a complete different ballgame, but one thing is the same; once you are 'ïn the game", sometimes you just "know" what to do, even though its irrational and you cant explain your move.... and win a huge pot. That's what I love most about poker

I have only played poker live once, late one night after the pub with a whole bunch of friends I had to drag home for some reason. We played with matches, and I can tell you, there ain't nothing I couldn't set light to with all my matches! I got like... at least a matchbox full!
(Noone else had played before, so they called all-ins preflop with Axo and other stupid stuff...)

Many years ago this result may have been a shock to poker players / loves. But now days id say due to the age of poker players online it would be hard for them to have much ofline experiance prier to there online experiance. I had played a lot of different card games growing up many of them involving money ie 3 and 9 card brag ace too kings rummy newmarket, all played with brithers and mum and dad aswell as with granny ..lol But never poker, so my first experiance was visiting a friend who was quite good at poker way back when. He showed me the basics then i was hooked ..lol Hooked isn't the word lol I spent quite a long time in the casinos before getting into poker. (youd think with so much gaming experiance i'd be a little better than i am) but there you go.
Never played live before starting playing online. I have no time for live ( family, children, job ), so I consider hold'em a wonderful game just because gives you the chance to play online when you want. And for it alloed me to join to this wonderful community
i know if pos/bet sizes ad all that stuff
and i just loved this game
